🗳️ Autistic individuals have an equal right to vote, but may face significant barriers to exercising that right. As the general election draws closer, it's important to ensure autistic people feel confident and supported to participate. In preparation for the big day, teachers at Portfield School Sixth Form are planning sessions around the importance of voting, going through the voting process, and holding discussions on the important issues for students. Over at Futures, our Learners are also hoping to do a 'mock vote' as a practice. If you would like to have your say on election day, make sure you're registered to vote by Tuesday 18 June 2024. If you need extra support, the #MyVoteMyVoice campaign is on a mission to make voting accessible to everyone. Check out their resources, which includes a quick guide to voting. ⬇️ https://buff.ly/3yU2wBY #GeneralElection #AutismAcceptance #Neurodiversity #Accessibility #Inclusion Image descriptions: The first image shows a graphic of a vote being placed in a ballot box, with text above which reads; "Your vote counts, 4 July 2024".
