Coexistence Queensland has recently launched a guide to empower landholders negotiating with onshore gas companies. The Landholder guide: Negotiating onshore gas activity provides practical information and tips for negotiating land access agreements with gas companies. Warwick Squire, CEO, of Coexistence Queensland, said “We developed the guide to help landholders have informed discussions and feel confident throughout the negotiation process,” Mr Squire said. Since 2010, over 5,000 Conduct and Compensation Agreements have been successfully negotiated, with more than $807 million paid in cumulative compensation. Coexistence Queensland partnered with landholders with firsthand experience negotiating with onshore gas companies, as well as peak bodies and government agencies to develop our independent guidance,” Mr Squire said. “These experiences, knowledge and lessons learnt were crucial to informing this practical guide for those beginning their journey towards sustainable coexistence.” For more information and to download the Landholder guide: Negotiating onshore gas activity, visit cqld.org.au.

We have worked with partners to develop the new Harwich Clean Energy and Maritime Innovation Cluster bringing together growing SMEs and large companies in the renewable energy, green fuels, ports, technology and maritime sectors while developing links with education and research organisations. The Cluster is also aligned with the model of the Government’s new Industrial Strategy which provides a focus on the alignment of Places and Sectors. The Harwich Clean Energy and Maritime Innovation Cluster is being delivered by a partnership including Freeport East, the University of Essex and Tendring District Council to support developing businesses in the region. From my conversations with the sector, developers, demonstrating that they are there for the long term could be critical to success. Bayu-Undan has had a 20-year history of providing natural gas for customers across Asia, while supporting local jobs and injecting over $US25 billion into the Timor-Leste economy. Now there are plans for it to play a critical decarbonisation role by transitioning into a carbon capture and storage site - creating a potential new industry with ongoing employment opportunities. This includes building on existing initiatives where in the past five years through Santos’ aim to deliver local jobs and training, the number of Timor-Leste nationals transitioning from semi-skilled roles to skilled positions has risen from 66 to 92.   Read more in our Sustainability and Climate Report here: https://bit.ly/STOSCR

I think we should all be working our socks off to create a strong city centre proposition for GB energy in terms of a suitably sustainable and retrofitted piece of architecture to house GB Energy, allowing them to "walk their talk" from day one....or maybe we should amend the scheme at the market to accomodate them in a new carbon neutral offering and make sure that the footfall supports the new units and those already in the centre.... #aberdeen #citycenntre #regeneration #GBenergy #sustainability

Winrock International's Solarizing Community Water Supply project is pleased to be collaborating with the Ethiopia Ministry of Water and Energy, the Oromia Water and Energy Bureau, Awash Bank S.C., and local private solar developers including Meseret MARE Solar Importer PLC and Tadele Tenaw PLC. At our workshop on Monday we discussed the commercial business model that Winrock has demonstrated in 10 rural communities for solarizing existing diesel water pumps, and planned our work together in 2025 to identify another 100 communities for scale-up.
