Woolf CEO, Joshua Broggi, recently participated in a panel discussion on 'Students of the East - Driving Global Higher Education Demand' at the Emeritus ASU+GSV Summit in India. The panel was moderated by Esther T. Benjamin and brought together distinguished #EdTech leaders, including Piyush Bhartiya, Akshay Chaturvedi, and Arnav Kumar to explore student-centric topics crucial for shaping the future of higher education. Here are 3 pivotal takeaways from the engaging conversation: 1) Projections for 2030 indicate a potential market of 9 million international students worldwide, valued at around $500 billion. 2) There is an increasing demand for outcome-driven education, where students seek programs that lead to tangible career outcomes. 3) Universities and governments must work together to ensure recognition for foreign degrees and support international students with relevant skills is crucial for long-term national success. Joshua also shared valuable insights from a Woolf perspective, highlighting the following key points: - Woolf’s mission of making world-class higher education more accessible globally, with a particular emphasis on ensuring the transferability of credits across borders. - Woolf's innovative model which is designed to be flexible and adaptable to diverse locations and student populations. - The importance of robust quality assurance systems when allowing faculty to propose new curriculum the global collegiate university framework. - The idea that degree programs need to be market-priced to align with the earnings and employment opportunities of students. - The need for degrees to be recognized globally, enabling students to have the flexibility to pursue employment opportunities in various countries. - The importance of models that support innovative curriculum creation. Joshua's insights from the Summit provide invaluable contributions, underscoring our commitment to advancing the global discourse on education. Sadly, the truth is they don’t even want to listen to us. They can postpone exams for a mere fest but not for SIH, a national platform that fosters innovation and problem-solving. According to them, we should focus on our future rather than these "USELESS" things. Despite several colleges emailing them to request a postponement, they simply ignored everyone. This is how innovation is promoted in this university — by discouraging students from participating in opportunities that could shape their careers and make a real impact.

"𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐜𝐤, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐬𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐬 𝐛𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤." My team and I were thrilled to be selected for the prestigious Smart India Hackathon (SIH) Grand Finale 2024. This milestone achievement marked our chance to represent our college and contribute to India's innovation landscape. However, our excitement turned to disappointment when we discovered that our end semester examinations clash with the SIH Grand Finale dates. Despite AICTE's official directive to universities to postpone examinations for participating students, and numerous efforts including: -Multiple emails from colleges requesting examination rescheduling -Several visits to the university campus by student representatives -Persistent follow-ups with university administration Our requests have remained unaddressed by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi - reflecting a concerning absence of basic administrative sense and student-centric decision-making. This situation isn't just about missing an opportunity – it's about a system that fails to adapt and support student innovation. SIH represents a platform where students can contribute to nation-building through technology and innovation. When educational institutions create barriers instead of bridges, they impede not just student growth but national progress. The 𝐛𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐮𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐮𝐧𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 to support student innovation and basic 𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐨𝐟 𝐚𝐝𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 showcases a deeper systemic issue that needs urgent attention. Our team, along with several others from GGSIPU-affiliated colleges, now face an impossible choice between our academic obligations and this prestigious innovation platform. This post isn't merely to express disappointment – it's a call for attention to a systemic issue that needs addressing. We need an education system that enables rather than constrains innovation. How is QS World University Rankings 2025 relevant for Indian private universities? India is moving with greater speed in all aspects as before in any sector, so that in higher education also. As per QS rankings, IIT-Mumbai is at 118 and IIT-Delhi at 150 whereas MIT is #1 and Imperial College, London #2. Oxford University #3, Harvard University #4 and National University of Singapore #8. QS World University Rankings 2025 explains the same criteria as before sustainability, employability, and international research networking. No new criteria have been added. But, it is the academic reputation, faculty reputation that matters a lot. Both reputation and ratio are significant criteria. Any private university of India can improve and achieve these rankings with careful planning. If India follows QS rankings, it is sure that Indian private universities will improve in science and technology. We are good at space technology and IT, and we must know how to leverage it. #Video # A Harvard student explaining about MIT
