SIFC's lack of renewable energy policy in Pakistan is preventing investors from investing in the country. General Asim Munir, co-Chairman of SIFC, should take action and demand answers from the Secretary power division and PPIB on the absence of policies for wind and solar electricity projects since 2016. Without policies, how can SIFC expect investment? Meanwhile, India has attracted $100 billion of investments to install 150,000 MW of wind and solar projects since 2016. It's time for SIFC to wake up and take action before the bureaucracy fails them, as it has done with previous governments. #renewableenergy #Pakistan #investment

BHEL continues to secure major orders from Adani Power, NTPC, DVC, and other State Power Generating companies, reinforcing its leadership in the thermal power sector. With the GoI pushing for 80 GW of coal-based capacity by 2031-32, timely execution of these projects is crucial for both BHEL and India’s energy security. The Indian government is emphasizing the need for thermal power projects until renewable energy (RE) supply can meet demand. As per Union Power Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, new thermal capacities will be required until at least 2030-35, with reductions considered only after that. With above backdrop, BHEL's expertise in #ThermalPower, #Transmission, and #RenewableIntegration positions it for sustained growth. Key is timely #Execution on field for which team BHEL is geared up with full vigour, zeal and enthusiasm. #PoweringIndia #EnergySecurity #Infrastructure #BHEL

KETRACO Powers Namanga Town: Completion Of 132kV Transmission Line Project Ensures Reliable Electricity In Kenya Namanga town and its vicinity now enjoy a consistent and reliable power supply as the Isinya – Namanga 132kV transmission line project is officially energized. The completion of this project represents a significant achievement in bolstering power reliability in Namanga and its surrounding regions. The stable power supply originates from KETRACO’s 132/33kV substation located in Namanga, replacing the previous service provided by a 140km 33kV medium voltage line from the KPLC 66/33kV substation near Kitengela. Previously, the extended 33kV line to Namanga impacted the reliability and quality of power in the area. With the new transmission infrastructure in place, stable […] Read the full story here: https://lnkd.in/datuX6Wa #solarenergy #alternativeenergy #solarpv #pvsolar #photovoltaic #cleanenergy #cleantech #climatechange #middleeast #africa #india #asiapacific #asia #africa #kenya #kenyaelectricitytransmissioncompanylimited #ketraco #powertransmission

India’s energy mix has traditionally been dominated by thermal sources. But now, the country’s energy narrative is evolving from coal dominance to a renewable future, driven by a commitment to sustainability and global development goals. With ambitious targets set for 2030, led by private sector investments with almost 97% share in renewable energy projects (especially solar and wind power), the journey towards 500GW of renewable energy capacity is well underway. India has surpassed 81GW in solar power capacity and 45GW in wind power capacity. However, the high penetration of variable and intermittent renewable energy poses challenges such as grid balancing and underutilisation of the transmission system, as companies demand firm and dispatchable power, which necessitates integration of energy storage systems (ESSs). India's first Battery Storage Gigafactory in Jammu and Kashmir, which will commence its operations in late 2024 is one of such systems, that will enable the storage of energy from solar, wind and other renewable sources so it can be released when needed Renewable energy not only mitigates climate change but also unlocks economic growth and collaboration opportunities on a global scale. India's commitment to innovation and a skilled workforce ensures its leadership in the global energy sector, promises a greener, brighter tomorrow defined by sustainability and prosperity. #India #RenewableEnergy #sustainability #prosperity
