The recently concluded LogiSYM conference and gala dinner in Singapore 🇸🇬 was not just another supply chain and logistics event; it was the “Oscars” 🏆 for logistics pros who dream of making global trade a smooth ride. For me, the Shippers' Council’s workshop and the LogiSYM Award 2024 Gala Dinner were the stars 🌟 of the show. It was fantastic to see a blend of young talent, seasoned experts, and all-around logistics wizards tackling the big issues that impact our daily lives. The #networking and #collaboration during the breakout sessions were absolutely priceless! The awards highlighted the power of #teamwork, #teamspirit, and #leadership, serving as a major motivation boost for both the young and the seasoned. We need more of these events to celebrate and recognize the essential #supplychain and #logistics fraternity. Hats off to LogiSYM and the Shippers' Council for putting on such a fantastic show and igniting the spirit of #networking and #knowledgesharing. The current members of the Shippers' Council are a talented and dedicated bunch. Without them, we'd be adrift at sea. You are our pillar of strength. I sincerely hope more folks from the #logistics and #supplychain space will join, especially as members of the rapidly growing Shippers' Council. We believe that through personal visits, valuable relationships can be formed, and a deeper understanding of the different processes can be established. Such encounters help identify similarities and differences in workflows, allowing teams to learn from one another. Recently, our colleagues experienced this firsthand.   The teams from transport logistics at our sites in Sulzbach-Rosenberg and Bielefeld met up and exchanged their insights. A central focus was on transferring best practices from one site to another. Finding himself as part of the global market leader in chemicals and ingredients distribution, he mastered his way through various sales roles to being Commercial Director Brenntag Essentials in Iberia today. Teamwork and exchange are the main ingredients in his recipe for success. “Be curious, ask questions, learn from best practices and from failures and work with dedication – then success will come your way”, Carlos shares. That is why he commits a huge part of his time to meeting colleagues and business partners, visiting our sites and engages in industry organizations. Out of Brenntag’s five Core Values, “Clarity” has been most important throughout his career: “Transparent communication and clarity build trust with both colleagues and customers which is the basis for success.
