📢🤔 This week's series -- Things Summit Restoration Auditing asks for on a water mitigation review + why? "Do you have a drying report?" ✨ Proper equipment sizing and moisture logging are critical to a successful water mitigation job. Using the right-sized and the right amount of equipment ensures efficient drying, prevents mold growth, and protects materials from damage. Accurate moisture logs track drying progress and tells the restorer if the drying plan might need to be altered to efficiently remediate the loss. At the end of the day, these practices not only protect the property but also demonstrate compliance with industry standards and provide peace of mind for both contractors and customers. #SummitAuditing #WaterMitigation #Restoration #MoldPrevention #MoistureLogs #PropertyRestoration

Did you know that trees are among the leading causes of power outages? The most important preventative measure Blue Mountain can take to mitigate the risks of power outages is vegetation management. At Blue Mountain Power Co-op, we care about delivering power safely and reliably. Trees growing too close to power lines can lead to power outages and safety risks. Vegetation management methods may include pruning, tree and brush removal, mulching, and herbicide application. Keep an eye out for our contractors who are proactively surveying potential issues and identifying vegetation that may need maintenance. We will notify you when vegetation management is required. If your site is identified, one of our team members will contact you directly to discuss vegetation management. We appreciate your patience as there is often close to a year between the time our team surveys your site and the crews arrive to complete the work. Please call our workers back if they leave you a voicemail or note on your door. How can Municipal Utility Districts (MUDs) or HOAs efficiently manage stormwater ponds and avoid costly violations? The key is consistent, proactive maintenance. Water Quality Ponds in Central Texas face unique challenges, from heavy sedimentation to erosion issues. Without routine inspections, these ponds can quickly fall out of compliance, leading to penalties and even environmental risks. By setting up a maintenance plan that includes regular inspections, sediment removal, and vegetation control, HOAs/MUDs can keep their ponds functional and compliant. Working with a team that understands local regulations—like BPI Partners—ensures that all necessary maintenance is handled efficiently and cost-effectively. Call us at (512) 288-5522 so we can work together to keep your ponds compliant and your property protected!

If you’re in the trenches with NPDES permits, you know it’s not just about compliance—it’s about doing the job right for our waterways and communities! Here are a few actionable tips I’ve picked up over the years to keep compliance smooth and effective: 1. Make That SWPPP Work for You: A one-size-fits-all SWPPP won’t cut it. Get site-specific with your Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan by considering local soil, slope, and runoff patterns. Every site’s got its quirks, and addressing those up front means BMPs that actually work in the field, not just on paper. 2. Inspect with Purpose: Don’t wait until it’s too late. Set a regular inspection schedule but make sure you’re getting out there right after major rain events. Catching sediment and control issues early keeps your site clean and compliant, no scrambling. 3. Invest in Preventative Maintenance: Waiting for a BMP to fail is a fast track to a violation. Check and re-check your BMPs, so minor issues don’t turn into compliance headaches. It’s about working smarter, not harder, in the long run. 4. Get the Team Onboard: Your crew’s the frontline defense here. Make sure everyone knows why these BMPs matter and how their work impacts water quality. A team that understands the “why” behind each control is more likely to keep things tight on-site. 5. Ditch the Paper Trail: Digital is where it’s at. Use apps or software to streamline your inspection logs, maintenance reports, and photos. Organized, accessible records mean fewer headaches if you’re audited and more time for hands-on work in the field. 6. Stay Ahead of Regulatory Changes: The rules are always evolving, so stay updated on the latest changes and best practices. Adjusting your approach to meet new standards keeps you ahead of the game and compliant. Remember, we’re the front line protecting water quality. Every step we take on-site, every BMP we install, it all matters. Let’s keep raising the bar for our industry and our waterways! #NPDES #NPDESTraining #NPDESTrainingInstitute #TrainingThatMatters #Stormwater #StormwaterManagement #StormwaterProfessionals #StormwaterTraining #MS4Training #MS4sMatter #WaterQuality

In a service area where 75 percent of distribution lines are threatened by trees and vegetation located outside the right of way (ROW), a robust vegetation management program is necessary. Our program has successfully decreased outages caused by trees falling out of the ROW by more than 80 percent. Read more about how the program works: https://lnkd.in/gfMPCS7y
