Another appreciation post…this time to introduce you to Dr. Leo Marcelis from Wageningen University & Research. If you are looking for high quality research about LED lighting on different crops. You should definitely look for Leo’s research. This professor has huge experience in crop production, plant physiology, water management, modeling, vertical farming and more! He was also one of the top scientists I checked on when working on research during graduate school (10 years ago) and continues to be a great source of information to guide growers in my job of technical service and consultant in Hort Americas. If you are a student or a grower working with LED in greenhouses or vertical farms I really recommend to look for the articles done by Leo’s group. His research always focus on practical information that can be applied in growing systems. If you are a grower I recommend to find the time to read deeply and learn from his publications. By improving our understanding in plant biology and physiology we can manage our systems better.
