Did you know that the womb has an extraordinary ability to send stem cells to repair damaged organs in the mother's body? Research has shown that pregnant women can experience organ healing, where the baby's stem cells travel through the placenta to repair damaged tissues such as the heart, liver, and even the brain. This phenomenon highlights the incredible bond and mutual support between mother and child. 🔬 New research highlights the long-term benefits of vitamin D supplementation during pregnancy for children’s bone health 💪 A study led by the University of Southampton and University Hospital Southampton NHS FT reveals that children whose mothers took vitamin D during pregnancy have stronger bones even at age seven. With greater bone mineral density, they are at lower risk of fractures and conditions like osteoporosis later in life. This important study, part of the MAVIDOS trial, reinforces vitamin D’s role in promoting lifelong bone health. ➡️ Discover the full story here: https://lnkd.in/eaPSRcMc #VitaminD #PregnancyHealth #BoneHealth #Research #SouthamptonResearch #ChildHealth

Do You Know The Difference Between Birth Recovery and Pregnancy Recovery? Birth Recovery: Starts immediately after giving birth and lasts around 6-8 weeks, though healing can take longer depending on the birth experience and individual factors. It specifically addresses the physical recovery from the birth process itself, whether it was a vaginal delivery or a C-section. Pregnancy recovery: This process encompasses the entire physical and emotional recovery from nine months of pregnancy. While aspects of recovery begin during the postpartum period, pregnancy-related changes can take months, or more, to fully stabilise. #PostpartumCare #MaternalHealth

Taking antiseizure medications during pregnancy is an important part of prenatal care for women with #epilepsy, but some drugs can cause birth defects and cognitive problems, and little is known about how they affect children after birth. In a long-running study, NINDS-funded researchers found that exposure to the two common antiseizure drugs lamotrigine and levetiracetam in the womb does not lead to worse cognition in children at age 6. The results provide clarity on the safety of antiseizure drugs during pregnancy and may help women with epilepsy and their providers come up with better dosing strategies that control seizures and are safe for mother and baby. https://go.nih.gov/73mNvH7 #EpilepsyAwarenessMonth

USS is one of important diagnostic tools in obstetrics. It's very important to have 1st trimester scan and more important it should be by expert personal as the rest of actions during pregnancy and labour depend on the 1st scan. Never miss the 1st scan.
