Ward is proud to support Living Wage Week.
This year focuses on recognising employers who have taken ‘a step beyond’ by becoming Living Wage accredited and paying a real Living Wage.
As a Recognised Service Provider, this week we celebrate, alongside 15,000 Living Wage accredited employers, the movement for fair wages and paying employees a real Living Wage – the only UK wage rate based on the cost of living, ensuring employees can afford to cover their everyday needs. With the rise in costs, it’s never been more important.
Together we encourage others to join the movement through raising awareness of what the Living Wage is, the impact it can have and why it’s so important.

We’re proud to announce that we are celebrating our third year as a Real Living Wage Employer 🙌
What does it mean to be a Real Living Wage Employer?
It’s the only UK wage rate based on the cost of living and is higher than the ‘National Living Wage’ set by the government. It is voluntarily paid by over 14,000 UK businesses who believe their staff deserve a wage which meets everyday needs - like the weekly shop, or a surprise trip to the dentist.
Since we became accredited in 2021, we have paid thousands in additional wages over and above the Government-set minimum wage. We want to recognise the dedication of our incredible team through ensuring they earn a wage that meets their everyday needs.
Our Managing Director, Sam Jones, shares the inspiration behind our commitment to being a Real Living Wage Employer, the positive impact it’s had on staff, and why we urge other employers to join the movement.”

It's Living Wage Week!
Keyzo became a Living Wage Employer way back in November 2017, and in the beginning I was championing the movement in the Tech industry as part of the Leadership in Tech Group and tried to educate people to #knowthedifference
I know it's a touchy subject and I've seen lots of posts for and against the increases, but here goes..
The National Minimum Wage is set by the Government and based on numbers it thinks businesses can afford to pay - and there is no weighting for London..... £8.60 per hour (under 21's) FTE = £16,770 per year
The National Living Wage is again set by the Government and looks at median earnings across the country, again no weighting for people in London.... £11.44 per hour (if you're over 21) FTE = £22,308 per year
The Real Living Wage is the only rate of pay calculated as the minimum people need to be paid in order to live... and a separate rate is calculated for London! £12.60 and £13.85 for London
The reality is, just to live they need a minimum of £24,570 (£27,007.50 if they live in and around the London area).
My post and advice isn't for businesses that pay the minimum wages, it's more for the people in jobs on minimum pay......
Want a payrise? have a look on the Living Wage Foundations website, there's a HUGE list of companies across the UK that are accredited as Living Wage Employers and are committed to giving all staff fair pay, click on their websites and check out their careers pages, apply for their vacancies
Hats off to all those companies that are voluntarily paying a real living wage

We are proud to announce that we are officially a real living wage employer!
As it’s living wage week, it’s the perfect time to celebrate that we are a real living wage employer, along with over 15,000 other businesses in the UK.
The real living wage is calculated based on the real cost of living, and takes into account the cost of household goods and services. We believe that everybody deserves a wage which meets their needs, and that’s why we choose the real living wage. #reallivingwage#livingwageweek#livingwageemployer
Championing Fair Pay: Our Support for the New Living Wage Rates
At The Clean Space, we’re proud to support Living Wage service providers across the UK in advocating for fair, meaningful pay for all workers. With the recent rise in real Living Wage rates to £12.60 per hour across the UK and £13.85 per hour in London, we stand behind this initiative, ensuring that our cleaners are valued and recognised for their essential work.
This increase will benefit almost half a million workers employed by Living Wage service providers, providing a crucial cost-of-living boost.
Yet, recent findings from the Living Wage Foundation highlight the ongoing challenges many face: 42% of low-paid workers have less than £10 left each week after covering essentials, 39% rely on food banks, and 32% skip meals due to financial strain.
At The Clean Space, we remain committed to supporting fair pay and advocating for the wellbeing of low-paid workers across the UK.
Together, we can help build a more equitable future for all.
