"Remove PR and Media Value! It's pointless!" As a PR professional, it’s surprising and annoying to hear that some people think PR and Media Value aren't important anymore PR isn't just about making noise—it's about making a real impact where it counts. For those who doubt its importance, here's the scoop: PR is all about shaping how people see a brand, influencing what they think, and getting them to take action. Whether it's getting in the news, rocking it on social media, or just making a buzz, PR is the secret sauce behind building trust and making things happen. And media value? It's not just some fancy number—it's proof that our PR efforts are hitting the mark. Every time our brand gets talked about, shared, or liked, it's like scoring points for our team in the game of public opinion. So, to anyone who thinks PR and media value are just smoke and mirrors, it's time for a reality check. Let's give credit where it's due and recognize the power of PR to make waves and drive real results! #PRPower #MediaMagic #MakingMoves"

If you're doing an earned media-only program, you're likely doing it wrong. Your PR strategy has to be as diverse as your audience's media diet. BUT... keep that traditional earned media muscle flexed! 💪 #MediaRelations
Traditional earned media — while just one piece of a much bigger puzzle — is still a foundational element of PR. It’s like leg day. But it is understandably becoming a lost art. In an age where your PR strategy has to be as diverse as your audience's media diet, good old-fashioned media relations remains crucial. Skip it and your strategy becomes unbalanced. We never skip leg day: https://lnkd.in/g-REYwyb What's your take?

I love the notion of "invisible PR" - that everything you do is PR. Steven Bartlett recently talked about this in a recent post. I used to think PR was just press releases and news articles, but it's actually just the complete perception of you and your business. Personal brand, social media, every interaction that someone has with your business = PR. Press releases (which is not what PR stands for, despite people using it incorrectly 🫠) are a way to shape your public image, but there are so many other ways to do this. Events Advertising Social media content Online interactions Face-to-face conversations It's all PR 🤷🏻♀️ #pr #socialmediamarketing #personalbranding

Love this piece from Shannon Tucker for Fast Company about how brands must make the most of their PR coverage. (Also, a big shout-out to Leigh Walters who has really taught me the importance of this.) Earned media can be tough these days so brands should share PR coverage far and wide. People are inundated with news and content so it's important to call out when your company gets coverage. #pr #publicrelations #freelancepr
