Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam (SB) 5.12.7 : It is stated in SB that in Kali-yuga the heads of government will be plunderers and thieves. These thieves and plunderers take the money and property of the public by force or connivance. Bashar al-Assad (Former president of Syria) is epitome of the above quote. While preparing for conference as a delegate of El Slavador defending Syria's human rights before the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) at the 2015 SRM MUN. It was heart Wrenching to know the worst humanitarian crisis of Syria while reading Arab Spring, 2011 Syrian Revolution, Syrian civil war, and Sanctions. Assad is a Satan disguised as syria's president who used his power to oppress, torture, murder the rebellions during Syrian Civil War (2011–2024). People all across the world are happy to know that dictators regime has ended as he was kicked out of the capital of Damascus by rebel groups. Many people from below listed international organizations came forward to support as per their capacity for syrians struggling to survive during civil war. Today, It feels really great to see tortured prisoners reuniting with their families, Russian troops retreating, rallies and celebrations of victory .Hope Syria have a bright new beginning and forms a good government for a great future. Cheers!!! like UNICEF, International Rescue Committee (IRC), International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), International Labour Organization (ILO), United Nations Country Team (UNCT), United Nations Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs (DPPA),United States, UNHCR. #Syriancivilwar #syria

Myanmar has increasingly been beset by violence as armed groups have united to challenge the territorial control of the ruling junta. Like its semi-democratic predecessors, the junta has been accused of grave rights abuses against civilians in the two years it has been in total power. Since November 2023, armed groups – many based on ethnic allegiances – have wrested more and more territory from the nation’s military leaders. In the dominant media narrative, those gains have been billed as an “emergence of hope” and a trend that “shouldn’t” cause fear. However, recent reports from Rohingya Muslim communities, who have faced decades of persecution at the hands of various Buddhist-dominated governments, are eroding the goodwill afforded to the Arakan Army (AA), arguably the most prominent of these resistance groups. The AA, who are fighting for greater autonomy for the Rakhine community, previously claimed it would embrace the Rohingya despite decades of strife between the two ethnicities, but reports of targeted civilian abuses and inflammatory rhetoric call those claims into question. Rudaw Media Network reports #Rojava flag of #YPG #SDF #PKK has been replaced with the #Syria flag. It's not enough. My advice Democratic National Committee Republican National Committee is following: Youth for Joe Biden Tulsi Gabbard - Form agreements for long-term protection of #YPG #SDF #PKK - Agree to hand oil back to the #Syria government and avoid future instability. - Agree for an "orderly" withdrawal of American troops from Syria like #Iraq, unlike #Afghanistan. - Agree for "quick" repatriation of #ISIS prisoners, or closure #AlRoj #AlHol camps #Hasakah. A percentage are innocent. Human Rights Watch has cited human rights violations. Majority of detainees are women and children. I would add that United States Department of Defense has destroyed a bridge connecting #DeirEzzour to #Hasakah recently. Some of my students participated in taking control of Deir Ezour recently. I don't think this action will stop them. Darfur, Sudan: 'The global inaction in the face of atrocities of this magnitude is inexcusable,” Tirana Hassan, Human Rights Watch (HRW) Executive Director. HRW published a report today documenting crimes against humanity committed by Sudanese paramilitary Rapid Support Forces against the ethnic Masalit population (and others) in Sudan's West Darfur state. This occurring in the context of an ongoing civil war that began April 2023 in succession to the War in Darfur (2003-2020) during which similar war crimes against ethnic minority groups were documented. The report compiled over 220 eyewitness statements attesting to crimes against humanity including: the systematic targeting and massacre of unarmed civilians (including children), attacks on essential infrastructure (hospitals, schools), forced migration, widespread torture/ sexual violence, and more. This report raises extreme concern for active genocide and ethnic cleansing of ethnic populations that have been targeted for decades. HRW is calling for the UN / African Union to urgently undertake a peacekeeping mission to protect civilians in Darfur from continued atrocity and for an investigation to be conducted into potential genocide.

Mwatana for Human Rights asserted that #Israel continues to defy the global conscience, the International Court of Justice, and the International Criminal Court by committing further horrific massacres against Palestinian civilians seeking refuge in facilities operated by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (#UNRWA). These actions reveal the international community's weakness in the face of Israel and its complicity in genocide, war crimes, and #crimes against humanity that have afflicted the Palestinian people for over nine months. The latest appalling Israeli attacks, along with the daily massacres intentionally carried out by the Israeli army against civilians in the Gaza Strip, leave no doubt about the current Israeli government's—led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his ministers—determination to continue its genocidal war against Palestinian civilians, resulting in 39,000 deaths so far, most of whom are women and children. Syria: Ensure Transition Respects Human Rights (Dec. 10, 2024) – The leadership of any Syrian transitional government that emerges should take urgent steps to ensure respect for human rights obligations and lay the foundation for a new government based on democracy and the rule of law, DAWN said today. DAWN urged the emerging leadership in the country to establish a civilian-led transitional council, deploy its forces to protect vulnerable people from possible reprisals, abide by human rights obligations with respect to the treatment of detainees, and secure weapons facilities throughout the country before it seeks to demilitarize armed groups and merge them into a single, unified military force. DAWN urged the international community to support Syria to transition to democratic rule and end foreign military interference in the country. "The new Syrian government should recognize that its victory over the Assad regime is the result of the sacrifices of millions of Syrians who have suffered for over a decade in their struggle for democratic rule and respect for human rights," said Sarah Leah Whitson, Executive Director of DAWN. "It should urgently issue public commitments that it will respect the rights of the Syrian people to justice and immediately seek to establish democratic governance in the country." New details emerge of ethnic cleansing in Darfur. New testimony details one of the worst atrocities of the year-long Sudanese civil war, the large-scale massacre of civilians as they desperately tried to flee an ethnic rampage in Darfur last summer. As El Fasher stands on the ‘precipice of a massacre’, rights groups call for sanctions after new testimony describes atrocities carried out by RSF paramilitaries in Sudan. https://lnkd.in/gT2rdf9n In the first of two articles on the crisis, I argue that with no military victory in sight, negotiation is the only path to peace in Sudan. Sudan needs an international coalition for peace and binding commitments on its future to stop the civil war that is benefiting no one except the generals. https://lnkd.in/gD4yjHKf

“….. the decision to add Israel to the list “will not bring back tens of thousands of our children who were killed by Israel over decades and will not restore normal life for the children who were permanently disabled by its actions.” “But it is an important step in the right direction towards ending the double standards and the culture of impunity Israel has enjoyed for far too long and that left our children vulnerable to its consequences.”” As so reported by CNN. Thank you António Guterres for taking such step as a show of support to humanity. Thank you for using your position to show that we are all humans, that Palestinians’ lives matter and that genocide perpetrators should not be left alone without any repercussions for their crimes and violations of international laws and human rights. We know that you are good person with good heart and we applaud that finally you are not “too afraid” to do what you should have done given the position you have. Being diplomatic is important, no one will argue against that. But turning blind eye or omitting to act or simply just condeming the genocide were not enough, not when you have such crucial and important position and functions at your disposal, is a different story altogether. People would criticise others for either of these two reasons: (1) pure hatred and (2) dissappointment. The second one occurs when people have high expectations of a person and yet such person wasted the opportunity and authority that he has. No, we did not criticize you for the former; we criticized you for the latter because we watched how you lived your life and how you led Portugal before your assumed the SG office in the UN. We have high expectations from you; we knew you could have done more! You have great legacy during your terms as Portugal President and the High Commissioner for Refugee. We hope you’d continue fighting for justice and humanity. We really hope you’ll go all out for it and give your best. We truly hope to see more from you and the world as well as all of us will remain forever grateful to you. Stop genocide‼️ Free Palestine 🇵🇸 https://lnkd.in/gTrMUAQT
