A Holiday Message and a Vision for the Future As the year comes to a close, I want to share my journey, the lessons I’ve carried with me, and the vision that drives us forward at FLYNOW. This holiday season is not just a time for reflection—it’s an opportunity to lay the foundation for what’s to come. Before FLYNOW, I worked for companies that claimed to value their people but often fell short. I’ve been in environments where employees were treated as cogs in a machine, promises of growth and recognition remained empty, and the culture felt more like survival than collaboration. I’ve lived the frustration of feeling unseen, the burnout from unrealistic demands, and the longing for a workplace that genuinely cared. Those experiences lit a fire in me—a determination to build something better. FLYNOW is born from a desire to create a company that rejects toxicity, false promises, and the treatment of employees as mere numbers. Instead, we’re striving for a culture where every person is valued for their unique contributions and has the opportunity to grow and thrive. While we’re not there yet, we’re driven by this vision. Our commitment is simple: as we grow and succeed, we will build a company that reflects these ideals. A company that leads with integrity, respects its people, and proves that success doesn’t have to come at the cost of humanity. Canary Wharf looks lovely in the sunshine (although there was more of that over the weekend than there is now!). When you're not inspired by your role, however, it can seem like an island marooned from real life and the things that really matter to you.   It doesn't have to stay that way. Many high-achieving technologists hit points where staying fully engaged at work becomes difficult. After all, you thrive on constant learning and change, but corporations often keep individuals in a role for their expertise even though they're are learning less.   I remember how that used to feel. What do you notice as you approach Canary Wharf (or wherever you are based): what are you looking forward to in your day, and what makes your heart sink?   If there's more of the sinking feeling, it may be time to assess your options for learning new skills and building a fulfilling career. 30,734 kilometers in a month. That's the mileage I flew in just a month. It's a milestone as I haven't had marathon flying for more than a decade. I must admit it's enervating yet exciting. Exciting because every kick-off is different. In Asia, we say "same-same but different"! It's East-meets-West energy, innovation, and collaboration set against the backdrop of vibrant cultures and dynamic markets. Haworth, being a global leader in workspace solutions, surely knows how to craft a memorable kick-off experience tailored to the diverse needs and aspirations of our Asia Pacific teams from countries like Australia, China, India, Japan, Singapore, and beyond. It's wrapped up now, and I conclude with three letters: I.C.E. I = Inspiration. No Haworth kick-off would be complete without a healthy dose of inspiration. Truly blessed with so many speakers from within and from our partners to share their insights and vision for the future of work. C = Celebration. Of course! Recognizing top performers, commemorating major milestones, honoring long-serving team members, or simply sharing a meal together, Haworth kick-offs in Asia Pacific always have a festive vibe. From traditional dances to modern music, from local delicacies to global cuisines, from classroom settings to trekking in nature, these celebrations reflect the rich tapestry of cultures that make up the Haworth family. E = Engagement. In a region as diverse as Asia Pacific, engagement is key to unlocking the full potential of teams. Especially in today's hybrid workplace environment, coupled with newcomers like myself, I am grateful and thankful to be part of this kick-off as an introduction to the team, especially those whom I've not met in person.
