News coming from Embr Labs, the creator of the Embr Wave. The company has secured six new patents across the United States, Japan, and the European Union. These patents focus on systems that combine sensors and artificial intelligence to deliver precise warming and cooling stimuli designed to enhance health and well-being. This marks a significant milestone in developing wearables that actively improve well-being. Whereas current Embr Wave technology requires the user to manually activate the device for hot flash relief, these new patents will allow for automated relief through the use of sensor-driven technologies that automatically respond to physiological biomarkers. These advancements highlight Embr Labs’ role as a leader in the industry. #HealthTech #WearableTech #MenopauseCare #ProudInvestor #WealthingVCClub

🚨 #ScienceSpotlight 🚨 "How accurate are research-grade wearables?" Interest is growing in using accelerometers and sensors within ICDs to monitor patient activity. While device-measured activity (D-PA) shows potential clinical value, its validity remains unestablished. Check this paper out: ✨ Study Highlight: Assess the validity of D-PA against a research-grade, validated wearable accelerometer (GENEActiv). Over 12 months of data, they compared activity time, step count, and more from four ICD vendors. 📊 Method: 22+ hours of daily data, sampled at 50Hz from wrist-worn devices. Measures of activity time, daily active volume, and slow walking steps were compared to D-PA data from four ICD vendors using linear mixed effect models. ⌚️🧠Wearable technology is evolving rapidly, and sensor fusion is at the heart of this transformation. By combining EEG (brain activity), PPG (heart rate), and accelerometer data (motion), we can unlock groundbreaking applications that were once impossible. Take #BrainFuseNet, for example—a system designed for wearable seizure detection. By integrating data from these three sensors, it achieves: • A 95% seizure detection rate with fewer than one false positive per day. • Enhanced performance through innovative algorithms, even on low-power, edge-deployed devices. This approach demonstrates the power of combining diverse data streams to deliver precise, reliable, and actionable insights—all in real-time. Beyond seizure detection, sensor fusion has applications in: • Stress and Recovery Monitoring • Sleep Quality Analysis • Mental and Physical Performance Optimization As wearables become more advanced and abundant, sensor fusion is paving the way for smarter, more personalized health solutions. What other challenges could be solved with this type of multi-sensor integration? Let’s discuss! #WearableTechnology #SensorFusion #HealthTech #Innovation #SeizureDetection https://lnkd.in/eYMW2hSF
