I'm really enjoying this podcast. The diversity of guests is great and that they have overlapping if not uniformly aligned messages about communication. All comunication is an experiment and all your guests have great ways of controlling those experiments as much as possible. One of the points Michael makes, which really resonates for me is that sometimes you should deliberately stop or extremely limit the communication. I use this in my world a lot. I have a lot of new things to communicate to my audience... it can overload. Creating time and space to process for the audience is essential. It is also respectful of the fact they may need to be listening and observing and processing messages from other sources. It's not all about me and what i have to get across. It is extremely helpful that you Ros, slow the podcast down and recap at selected points. This really helps me consider what you and the guest are sharing. It helps me be deliberate about my attention and helps me learn. The book is also a great listen... I'll be making sure to get a physical copy too. cheers Ros, appreciate your work #Communication #Agile #Lean #BusinessAgility #BehaviouralScience

With the Olympics coming, here's what Michael Johnson told me about communication in the US relay teams he was in, and why he kept it to a minimum. Sometimes, he argues, it's best to say less. You can hear the full Michael Johnson episode and the rest of our podcast 'Communicating...', here. In it, some of the most effective communicators share how they do it. https://lnkd.in/e3NRbRgE
