🔔 Check out Global Counsel's latest report - Unleashing Innovation in the NHS: barriers and opportunities for the adoption of healthcare technologies. As pressures on the NHS grow and the potential of healthtech only gets more exciting, having a clear path to drive adoption has never been more vital. The report makes key recommendations: 💊 Simplify and support procurement - including a national framework for value-based pricing, and transparency around specialised commissioning 🙏 Improve healthtech adoption, including greater clinician involvement and increasing resourcing for pathway transformation. ✋ Establish clear accountability mechanisms for adoption. Particular well done to my brilliant colleagues Charlie Norell and Robert Reid who led this work, and of course a thanks to ABHI who the team were delighted to have the support of in developing the report. #Healthtech #Tech #NHS #adoption #commissioning #valuebasedpricing #transformation

🆕 BLOG 📖 "Unlocking the Future of Health Care: The Role of Medtech in Value-Based Health Care" by Hans Bax 🔵 (MedTech Europe) on behalf of the European Alliance for Value in Health! Medical technologies play a critical role in the transition to value-based health care (#VBHC). These can revolutionise care by improving outcomes, reducing costs, and personalising treatment. Medtech innovations are already transforming care delivery, through enabling earlier detection, more precise treatment, and real-time monitoring - aligning perfectly with VBHC's goals of improving patient outcomes and reducing unwarranted variation in care. 💡 However, successful implementation of VBHC requires collaboration across all stakeholders, from patients to healthcare providers, academia and industry. ABHI is proposing an ambitious HealthTech strategy to position the UK as a global frontrunner. The plan entails establishing a cutting-edge regulatory framework to drive innovation and ensure patient safety, professionalizing innovation processes within the NHS, and implementing a sustained investment plan to bolster sector expansion. Collaboration with NHS England and other healthcare providers is highlighted to streamline technology integration, improve procurement practices, and amplify support for domestic manufacturing and research. Additionally, there is an emphasis on enhancing digital infrastructure for early diagnosis and patient care, coupled with a strategy to enhance the international presence of UK HealthTech firms. #HealthTech #Innovation

Increasing healthcare costs, rising chronic diseases, ageing population and supply constraints are just some of the key factors driving healthtech adoption in the region. In our conversations with healthcare leaders, many are leading the drive to introduce innovation to improve quality of care. How do we overcome challenges in tech adoption? How can we accelerate innovation? Hence, HealthTechX Asia. At HealthTechX Asia, we bring together the entire ecosystem from ministries of health and their digital agencies, providers, payers, system integrators, large corporates, start-ups and investors – to partner, collaborate and innovate. HealthTechX Asia will be hosting a launch, a prelude to the main event, on 28th June 2024, Friday, 2.30-5.30pm where healthcare leaders will come together to discuss how technology can be an enabler to positively impact healthcare delivery and patient care. Across multiple healthcare systems today, #interoperability is the key to unlocking seamless data exchange 🔓. It ensures that patient information is readily available at the point of care, enabling #healthcare providers to make informed decisions, which leads to accurate diagnoses, effective treatments, and better patient outcomes. However, achieving interoperability remains a significant challenge for #HealthTech companies worldwide. In the UK, the challenge is more prominent as organisations have to integrate with the #NHS’s diverse and centralised services. In his newest blog, our very own Saurav Gupta discusses why it’s so crucial to consider interoperability from the outset of any HealthTech deployment to overcome the challenge. Digital health solutions have the potential to completely transform different aspects of healthcare, providing substantial benefits for patients, healthcare providers, and society as a whole. However, successfully bringing these innovations to the commercial market remains a significant challenge. Last week we were in Luxembourg at the European Digital HealthTech Conference, organised by Luxinnovation GIE, Medical Valley EMN e. V., EIT Health, and dmac, which brought together around 400 participants to share best practices on how European, national, and regional entities can optimise their support for digital health companies. Our managing director, Menno Kok, moderated a session that focused on 'Data Collection and Access: National and European Challenges.' This session highlighted the importance of fair and easy access to patient data and explored: - European and national initiatives - Cross-country projects - Engagement of healthcare providers and patients - Primary and secondary use of patient data - Interoperability in healthcare If you missed the event, take a look at the article below 👇️ https://lnkd.in/emCh2asw Jean-Philippe Arie, Francesca Borrelli, Hayley Every #DigitalHealth #HealthcareInnovation

Just completed judging the quarter-finals for The Digital Health Hub Foundation - Digital Health Awards - HLTH USA 2024. As a clinician in healthtech, it's been an incredible experience to evaluate such innovative submissions, especially those focused on longevity and health equity. Judging these entries on the basis of Scope, Impact, Differentiation, Clinical Validation, Customer Adoption, and Economic ROI makes one think about all the different perspectives that go into transforming healthcare processes and outcomes. The experience has also reinforced my belief in the power of healthcare technology to solve real-world problems. It's inspiring to see brilliant, passionate, and bold teams working together to create meaningful change. However, as much as I admire their innovation and dedication, I believe there's a vital piece of the puzzle that needs more attention - clinician representation and leadership in digital health innovations. Clinicians bring invaluable insights and lived experiences to the table, ensuring that solutions are not only technologically advanced but also clinically relevant and patient-centered. Excited to continue this journey and look forward to seeing how these ideas evolve in the next round! 💡 #HealthTech #DigitalHealth #HealthcareInnovation #Longevity #HealthEquity #CliniciansInTech #FutureOfHealthcare
