The 80/20 Rule: Is it good for your overall nutrition intake? Is it good for golfers and athletes of other sports? The 80/20 Rule isn’t a new concept. It was first developed by Vilfredo Pareto in 1896. The Pareto principle (aka 80/20 rule) was used to explain the concept of how roughly 80% of effects come from 20% of causes. It is referred to in many different areas from scoring in sports games (20% of players score 80% of the points), decluttering your clothes closet (identifying 20% of the clothes you wear 80% of the time), productivity (completing 20% of your tasks that result in 80% of the overall impact), and golf (your best 20% swings will have 80% of the impact on your round). https://lnkd.in/et_ABuU9 Follow The Golf And Travel Show South Florida Golf Tournaments

Diet Sin #1: EVEN Fewer Micronutrients People do not get enough vitamins, minerals, antioxidants. They’re not even close on protein. I have completed well over 10,000 intakes; and even among some of the best of the best, people were on the edge of inadequacy. Most of the food we have is derived from depleted soil; and then we add to that an additional layer of depletion for shelf stability. There is almost zero nutrition in what most people call food. Of course, as people diet, they eat even less. Well, they were already eating too little of several nutrients. Now they’re getting fewer while often more active. They OUGHT to feel hungrier, more tired, and more cravings. I’ve harped on protein before. Today, let’s look at choline. Egg yolks are the choline superfood. People who do keto dieting with a lot of yolks do not get hungry. If they salt the food heavily, paradoxically they get perfect blood pressure and feel great. That’s not a fit for everyone. But, given that choline is the precursor to our central neurotransmitter (acetylCHOLINE), it would be wise to contemplate supplementing choline every day that you are struggling with hunger and cravings. The model exists in the literature during rapid weight loss among martial arts athletes: https://lnkd.in/dm7Q5NqU It’s well tolerated. It’s easy. It’s cheap. Moreover, you have to ask yourself, “why would I need any more calories?”, when you’re struggling with hunger or desire for food. When you are yearning to get some food in the body, it makes precisely NO SENSE from a caloric model. Your body has between 50,000 and a few million readily-accessible stored calories within it. You don’t need any more energy from food. If you have only five pounds to lose, you don’t need any more energy from food as a grown adult for a month or so. If there are one to two zeroes behind that weight loss goal, you can stop talking about caloric need for a year or so. You may need building blocks (protein) to heal. You do need micronutrients to run metabolic processes. But you absolutely do not need more energy. So you must confront yourself and remind yourself that that message is an error, but likely one built upon a need for actual nutrients, not energy. Rather than getting even less micronutrient intake than your already-inadequate one, consider getting MORE. And think about trying choline.
