Murali Sundararajan, EVP CIO at Victoria’s Secret & Co., shared this podcast with WeTech last week. We found it FASCINATING. Murali's approach to leadership is really interesting. He's a business leader, not solely a technology leader - unifying the business and technology and elevating the function across the organisation to partner with the wider business and generate business value. He does really innovative things to empower his teams to use their intuition and deliver value-adding innovative products and concepts, perfect their story-telling ability, and truly understand the wants and needs of internal and external customers and how to deliver against these. His obsession with human psychology is what really interested me though... and how this is incorporated into his leadership style, his delivery of transformational change, and his relationship-building approach, is amazing. If you've got some time, we highly recommend listening to this. His approach is fascinating. Also, some great bits in here around AI - which is a topic relevant to virtually EVERYONE at the moment... https://lnkd.in/d3Eq_uPC 💕 WeComm #WeTech #Leadership #BusinessTransformation #Innovation #TechLeadership #DigitalTransformation #AI #CustomerExperience

As we approach the end of October, the pressure is mounting for many in this final quarter of the year. Early in my career as a manager, I often found myself fixated on business targets, losing sight of the human element within my team. I thought results were driven purely by strategy and numbers—until I had the privilege of working under Carolyn Park, who showed me how wrong I was. Carolyn helped me recognize the powerful link between empathy and impact. She guided me in regulating my emotions, showing me that understanding and connecting with my team was just as critical as meeting the numbers. This shift didn’t just change my perspective; it changed my results. Later, as I applied these lessons with my own team, I saw firsthand how focusing on people alongside business goals led to better outcomes across the board. In the latest episode of What’s Your Forecast?, I sat down with Ben Arendt , founder of Depth Charge Consulting, to discuss this very topic. Ben’s insights on the balance of emotional intelligence in leadership, and his perspective on where the future of management is headed, really hit home. Great point by Joe Verdecampo about not getting lost in the numbers in Q4. Sales managers have one of the hardest leadership roles in an organization. There's a big gap between the skills needed to be a superstar seller and an effective manager. One of the biggest failure points I see for sales leaders is a focus on trying to make everyone on their teams into a copy of themselves. Good managers, in contrast, focus on helping their team members become better versions of themselves. Know what motivates your team can really be a boon during this time. Some sellers respond to pressure, others are already creating more than enough pressure for themselves and need other types of support! Check out Joe's podcast--What's Your Forecast?--for more of our conversation about topics like the above! #leadership #salesmanagement #sales #management #Q4

The way we work is changing fast. The question is: will you lead the change—or let it catch you off guard? #AI isn’t just transforming tasks—it’s challenging leaders to rethink how their teams and organizations operate. When I spoke with futurist • Daniel Burrus Burrus on the Partnering Leadership podcast, he shared a key insight: 💡 the biggest risk isn’t AI itself—it’s holding on to outdated ways of thinking. That’s why leaders need an experimental mindset: testing and learning smarter ways to create value with AI. It’s not about adding more to your plate—it’s about rethinking workflows and helping your team focus on what matters most. Here’s a question I ask my clients that is worth reflecting on: "How different is the way you and your team work today compared to two years ago?" If the answer is “Not much,” that could be a red flag. 🔴 The smartest leaders I’ve worked with are embracing new tools and approaches that make them wonder how they ever managed without them. It’s not always easy to break from what’s worked before, but standing still isn’t an option in a fast-moving world. So ask yourself: What parts of your team’s work could AI help simplify or improve? How are you modeling the mindset your organization needs to adapt and thrive? Leaders who embrace this mindset are positioning their teams for long-term success. 🌾 Disruption isn’t just about technology—it’s about leadership. How are you leading for the future of work? #StrategyToAction Strategic Leadership Ventures #partneringleadership #leadership #strategy #culture #management #collaboration #genai #futureofwork
