🎶 The Secret Sauce to Event Success? Strong Relationships! 🎶 If there’s one thing I’ve learned in my time as a music booking agent, it’s that relationships are at the heart of every successful event—whether it's with the incredible musicians I work with or the clients looking for that perfect performance. 🤝 ✨ Clients: Listening to their vision, understanding their vibe, and making sure they feel supported every step of the way is what I love. From that first enquiry to the final note of the night, I’m there to make sure their event is one to remember. 🌟 🎤 Musicians: Building trust with talented professionals is key. Knowing their strengths and matching them with the right gig ensures a smooth and unforgettable performance. It's not just about filling a spot—it's about creating magic! 🎸🎻 At the end of the day, it’s not just a transaction—it’s a collaboration! 🤩 Seeing happy clients and musicians ready to work together again is the best part of what I do. Here’s to strong connections and even better events! 🥂🎵

These are networking strategies which transformed my DJ career, whilst working as a doctor 🤝 I played at the biggest festival in the world (Tomorrowland) and signed a deal with Sony Music within 12-months of launching my DJ career without any contacts in the music industry. Here’s how⬇️ 1. Work for free to get in the right rooms - in the first year, I contacted hundreds of clubs to play the slots when rooms were empty. This showed my passion and gave me experience of DJing in environments outside of my bedroom! 2. Introduce people to each other - sometimes you’re not the right person to help someone out, but you might know who someone else who is. This is an amazing way to build your own industry circles and position yourself as a “useful” person to know. 3. Thank someone “higher up” in an organisation even if someone lower down gave you the opportunity - often senior people are too busy to acknowledge your work or even know about you... so put it on a plate for them by sending them a “hello and thank you” email. 4. Find and message key contacts on LinkedIn - even in creative industries, the decision-makers tend to be on LinkedIn. I’ve had a CEO of a $2.2B company reply and set me up with an opportunity. 5. Offer help without expecting anything in return - even if you have little to offer early on, this shows you’re willing to support. People will like you. 6. Do your research on people before going to an event - sometimes you’ll receive the guestlist in advance, so study the individuals going so you know exactly how to steer the conversations. 7. Have a “mission statement” prepared - you need to get clear on who you are, what you do and why you’re doing it. It’s easier to get conversations going by finding common ground with your “missions” first, then later delving into specifics. What other tips do you have? Let me know in the comments👇 #bodalia #careertips #networking

There are 3 events I’m excited about happening in the San Francisco Bay Area in October and November, hope you can join! If you’re tired of sending 50 DMs a day, sending thousands of cold outbound emails, and sitting in front of a screen (especially if you’re a coach, consultant or solopreneur): Go out and meet awesome people in person, learn together in community, have deep shared experiences, show people your ❤️, and go to places where your people are. This will certainly result in connecting with your SOUL ALIGNED CLIENTS. 99% of my coaching clients are people who I also have deep and meaningful friendships with, so my “work” doesn’t feel like work - we’re simply just walking each other home. This events roundup is a new type of post you can expect to see from me several times per month. If you're interested, subscribe to my Substack! If you think I’m cool and are curious about how I became me, these events roundups will give you a clue. I’ll also let you know which events I’m attending so we can meet up IRL, and which I simply recommend. #SanFranciscoEvents #Networking #PersonalGrowth #MusicDocumentary #TechCrunchDisrupt #Dance #Tantra #CommunityBuilding #Events

Reflecting on a Significant Milestone: The Journey of MeraEvents 15th Anniversary Today marks an important day in my life. October 2nd holds immense significance—not only is it the birth anniversary of great leaders like Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri, but it's also the day we launched MeraEvents in 2009. On that day, my spiritual mentor and guru, Swami Sukhabodhananda, inaugurated our platform at a grand event attended by over 5,000 people. I shared my vision to touch the lives of a million people through this venture. After returning from the USA to India, I recognized the transformative power of events and networking. Witnessing a substantial gap in the events industry, we launched MeraEvents.com to bridge this divide. MeraEvents evolved into a DIY, end-to-end event technology platform, empowering over 30,000 event organizers, listing more than 300,000 events, and selling over 3 million tickets throughout the years. Our journey has been filled with ups and downs, but our primary aim has always been to make a meaningful difference. While over 50 similar websites have come and gone in the past 15 years, we've remained steadfast and stronger than ever. We've had the privilege of handling some of the biggest events in the country—professional conferences, exhibitions, sports events, entertainment shows, community activities, and special occasions like New Year's celebrations and Navaratri festivals. The pandemic was undoubtedly our biggest setback. We consciously decided not to fully pivot to virtual event technology because I believed that events are meant to be physical experiences. Now, as the world reopens, the opportunity has returned for us to serve better than before. I'm excited to announce that MeraEvents 3.0 is on the horizon—a bigger, more impactful, and financially robust model. I invite you all to be part of this growth journey. Currently, I am deeply involved with Factoryal providing growth support for startups. I consider MeraEvents as one of these growth businesses and am committed to supporting them. I want to take this opportunity to thank all the stakeholders who have been part of this incredible journey—our customers, users, employees, investors, friends, family, and countless well-wishers. Your support has been invaluable. Here's to new beginnings and continued success! MeraEvents Sai Kiran Reddy @venkatesh

Many times when I’m on the phone to potential customers, I am asked “What events do you cover?” or “Can you send me a list of all the events you offer?” This can be a little tricky as there are such a huge number of events that we cover throughout the year, particularly when you add in all the football and music events that take place in the UK in any given month. Imagine speaking to a travel agent about booking a holiday and asking them to send a list of all the holidays they offer? 😲 Having said that, we have a selection of core events that we cover that usually take place around the same time annually. This is always a great starting point if you are looking to attend an event with clients or staff as it covers all the major sports events that draw big crowds every year. The UK is spoiled for choice when it comes to world-class sport and music events, and sometimes it helps to have a little inspiration. If you’re looking for some inspiration for your next corporate event, have a look at our Core Events Calendar below, and get in touch with us to find out all the options available. #corporatehospitality #sports #music

Networking Basics in the Music Industry: A Funny Yet Insightful Guide Let’s rewind to the early days of my career when I first dipped my toes into the music industry. Picture this: I’m at an industry event, excited but slightly overwhelmed. Instead of diving into conversations, I found myself gravitating toward the food table. Hey, who can resist a good spread, right? I spent the night munching on hors d'oeuvres and sampling every cocktail the bar had to offer. By the end of the evening, my stomach was happily full, but my contact list remained as empty as my drink glass. Sound familiar? It’s easy to get caught up in the perks of an event—especially when social anxiety and imposter syndrome come knocking. I mean, who wouldn’t rather focus on those delightful mini quiches rather than the intimidating task of networking? But here’s where the plot twist comes in: I realized that if I wanted to make real connections, I had to shift my focus. So, I started a new strategy: targeting one person at each event to connect with. Just one. This wasn’t about going overboard or trying to meet everyone in the room. It was about being fully engaged with one individual, forging a meaningful connection, and leaving with at least one new contact. As I became more comfortable, I increased the number of people I reached out to, but I kept it organic. Conversations flowed naturally, and I focused on building genuine relationships rather than collecting business cards. Here’s the takeaway: Networking isn’t about stuffing your face or drowning your nerves in cocktails. It’s about making authentic connections. So, next time you find yourself at an industry event, remember to: Pick one person to engage with. It’s less daunting and more manageable. Be present in the conversation. Authenticity wins over small talk. Gradually expand your network. Once you’re comfortable, you can start mingling with more people. Networking is a skill, and like any skill, it improves with practice. So, skip the buffet and focus on building relationships. Your future self will thank you! #NetworkingTips #MusicIndustry #CareerAdvice #SocialSkills #ProfessionalGrowth #NetworkingFail #AuthenticConnections #OvercomingAnxiety #ImposterSyndrome #MusicBiz #IndustryEvents
