We at DNV are proud of being part of the CO2 storage project Greensand and issuing our independent 3rd party certification to #INEOS and partners #harbourenergy and the “Nordsøfonden”. Why is this project important: because this is about CCS in practice and the very first offshore storage site to receive independent certification for feasibility and suitability for CO2 storage. DNV started 15 years ago to develop and issue recommend practices and a certification scheme that scrutinizes storage sites for the purpose of reducing risks to the CCS business case, safety, avoid leaks, etc. all this to ease permitting and society acceptance of CCUS. The key word “practice” aligns with our hybrid CCUS financiers event held in Copenhagen this week. The large amount of people attending is a strong statement that CCUS in more practical terms has entered the scene of scaling the industry. Second Workshop of the EHS&CP held in Brussels 🤝   💧 Hydrogen is pivotal to the transition towards a climate-neutral economy, enabling emission-free transport, heating, industrial processes, and inter-seasonal energy storage.   At Ecorys, we support the Clean Hydrogen Partnership in its mission to position the EU as a leader in sustainable and circular hydrogen technologies and value chains. To achieve this, we established the European Hydrogen Sustainability and Circularity Panel (EHS&CP), aimed at driving the greening of hydrogen production, storage, distribution, and end uses. ♻   Last week, the panel of experts met for the second time, reflecting on a valuable presentation of the Panel’s work on sustainability and circularity in the European hydrogen ecosystem. Insights gained from the Panel's work will guide future projects and programmes. 💡  Special thanks to the European Commission, JRC, Hydrogen Europe, and Hydrogen Europe Research for their contributions. We look forward to strengthening our collaboration with the EHS&CP.

Europe 🇪🇺 continues to lead the way in #cleantech innovation! The outgoing European Commission made major strides with key initiatives such as the Green Deal, the Net Zero Industry Act (NZIA), the Critical Raw Materials Act, and support for IPCEIs (Important Projects of Common European Interest). Skeleton Technologies is proud to have played an active role, providing input through consultations and engaging in the Clean Transition Dialogues.⚡   The next European Commission will keep cleantech central to its agenda. As we prepare for the Cleantech for Europe Summit next week, our VP of Government Affairs, Arnaud Castaignet outlines how the proposed Commissioners will drive forward Europe’s clean energy future: Teresa Ribera, the proposed Executive Vice-President for the clean, just, and competitive transition, will focus on the Clean Industrial Deal and directing financing through the Just Transition Fund. Stephané Séjourné as Executive Vice-President for industrial strategy, will lead on the Net Industry Act, Industrial Decarbonization, and oversee the creation of new IPCEIs for strategic sectors. Wopke Hoekstra (climate) and Dan Jørgensen (energy) will be key to advancing Fit for 55 and reducing energy prices—critical for enhancing the competitiveness of European manufacturing and enabling Skeleton’s energy storage solutions. Lhyfe, one of the world’s pioneers in the production of green and renewable hydrogen, and Elyse Energy, a European specialist in the production of low-carbon molecules, have announced that they plan to jointly develop the production of e-methanol from green renewable hydrogen at the heart of the Loire estuary’s industrial and #logistics port #ecosystem. This project, known as Green Coast, is of major importance for the area and for the entire #maritime transport sector, which is seeking to achieve decarbonisation.
