Let’s talk match attendance 🔊 Everyone’s talking about Arsenal this week, after the women’s team drew yet another record crowd in the North London Derby - a second consecutive sellout ⚽ Word has spread across the capital that the Emirates is the place to be on WSL weekends. Arsenal Women’s average season attendance (35,006) is now higher than that of half the clubs in the Premier League. Let that one sink in 💥 But it’s not just Arsenal putting in the hard yards. Manchester United are drawing in average crowds of 10,177 at home, while league title holders Chelsea are seeing 7,245 fans coming to their home games. Lower-down clubs like Leicester City are also taking advantage of their club’s infrastructure to boost support, by playing all of their home games at the King Power Stadium. While they may not attract crowds in the way that the top four do, playing at a ground with 14x the capacity of Chelsea’s Kingsmeadow is a statement in itself. 🏟 It’s true that women’s football is still finding its feet after so many years being under-appreciated, under-funded, and in many cases, non-existent. As crowds grow, WSL clubs are taking this opportunity to define their match day culture, and some are doing it in style. Despite being bottom of the table, Bristol City Women are redefining what a day out at Ashton Gate looks like. From pre-match DJs, twerking mascots, and - of course - an inflatable apple race, the Robins are bringing the vibes. And with their average home attendance sitting at 7,046, they’re clearly on to something 👀 Which home fixture is your favourite and why? Let us know in the comments 👋 #fantasywsl #wsl #arsenalwomen #arsenal #manchesterunited #chelsea #bristolcitywomen #leicestercity #matchday #womensfootball

🏴 Chelsea have reportedly held talks over leaving their iconic stadium Stamford Bridge and moving to Earl’s Court as they seek a resolution to their plans for a bigger stadium, with the current stadium “only” having seats for 40.343 fans. Increasing the stadium capacity is therefore a major priority for the owners, who have begun looking at a new site in west London due to the difficulty of redeveloping the current ground, according to The Guardian. 🔵 It’s said that the Chelsea owners are committed to maximising revenues by building one of the biggest and best stadiums in England, with The Blues currently having the 9th biggest stadium in the Premier League. 🏟️ This has proved to be a problem for the London club, who haven’t been able to compete with the other ‘big 6’ clubs, when it comes to stadium capacity. This becomes evident when looking at the club’s average attendance during the 2023/24, which was at 39.700, the 9th highest in England. Meanwhile, Manchester United had an average attendance of 73535, 82,23% bigger than that at Stamford Bridge. With that, Chelsea had an utilisation rate of 97.2%, leaving little room to grow the average attendance at Stamford Bridge. 💰 Despite this, Chelsea find themselves amongst the 10 clubs with the highest matchday revenue in the World, during the 2022/23 season. In fact, the Blues generated €88 million in matchday revenue. However, this number is still far short of their main competitors in the Premier League, with Manchester United, who also has the biggest stadium in the Premier League, racking in €156.9 million in revenue. #premierleague #chelsea #football

▶ Some worth to mention factors which makes Rodri's goal threat actions easier: 1️⃣ Opponents low block schemes with 9 to 10 players behind the ball and Rodri so that stepping up does not affect Man City's rest defence taking in consideration the Citizens compactness and good counter pressing process. 2️⃣ Rodri's starting point from deeper areas makes him usually marked by one of the opponents' front line players, who also doesn't keep tracking back Rodri while he penetrates and occupies spaces between the lines, i.e between opponent mid and backline players whose attention is paid to the ball or other Man City players.
🔵 Has Rodri unleashed his inner-Lampard instincts? 🔵 Here are his open play goals for Manchester City during the 23-24 Premier League season. 🥅 #Rodri #neoLampardism #evolution Made with the new Play3 by Metrica Sports 🔥
