What I learnt from a Week on the Road? This week has been a whirlwind, traveling between the bustling streets of #London and the serene countryside of #Carmarthenshire. Service stations, once holiday pit stops, have become my go-to lunch break spots! Despite the change in scenery and culture, one thing remained constant: the impactful enterprise programme I was able to deliver for 2B Enterprising! Whether in England or Wales, primary school children were engaged and learning essential enterprise skills. #Determination, #resilience, #kindness, and #teamwork were just a few of the qualities we focused on… Meeting new people along the way has reinforced my belief in the importance of primary education… We all have a role to play in supporting children's future’s! Whilst being reminded of the importance of keeping in contact with previous employers and colleagues! You never know when you might need their help and support… Jayne Brewer Assoc CIPD Mark Hindmarsh Rhiannon John Emily Lewis Tracy Bracher Kathryn Di terlizzi #EnterpriseEducation #PrimaryEducation #2BEnterprising #Resilience #Teamwork #ChildrensFutures #Networking #ProfessionalRelationships

It was great to welcome Jason Crockett to Mildura this week to collaborate and catch up on the Switch to Social Work program. Switch to Social Work is a 2-year program that supports people with an existing bachelor's degree to make a career change to Social Work, by combining study, training and paid work in the child and family services sector. It aims to create a highly skilled, diverse, and fit-for-purpose child and family services workforce. Program participants obtain a Master of Social Work (Child and Family Services) and are employed as a paid intern at a community services organisation while they study. This practical real-world work supports their study with on-the job experience in the areas they will be qualified to work in. We currently have two staff engaged in the program and employed as interns here at Mallee Family Care and we're keen to continue supporting others to pursue a career in Social Work. Thank you to the Victorian Department of Families, Fairness & Housing, Centre for Excellence in Child & Family Welfare and La Trobe University for partnering with us and other community services organisations on this innovative initiative. 📷 MFC CEO Teresa Jayet, Jason Crockett and MFC Child & Family Services Manager (Vic) Rachel Johnson. #SwitchtoSocialWork #SocialWork #CareerChange #SkillsDevelopment #WorkforceDevelopment

Camptown Changemakers: Maggie Throughout the year, dedicated champions help Camptown expand our reach and deepen our impact on every child we serve. Meet three inspiring members of the Camptown family and learn about the journeys they’ve taken with us. Our program staff spotlight is Maggie Mathews! Maggie first connected with Camptown through our REACH for Nature program, which introduced new after-school clubs and outdoor experiences, including a two-week day camp and a high school backpacking trip. Since then, she has joined our full-time team as a program manager, bringing her spunk, positivity, and warmth to every interaction she has with the students we serve. What interests you most about Camptown? "I've always been passionate about getting kids out into nature. That's been the driving force behind everything I do when working with youth, and it's what drew me to Camptown's mission." What is your Camptown story? "The opportunity to work with Camptown came up a few times. Initially, I saw a job listing and visited the website, but I hesitated to apply. Later, a friend's daughter attended a Camptown event, and my friend called me up and told me I HAD to and that it was perfect for me! That felt like a sign, and was the push I needed to get involved." What is your "why"? "My motivation comes from witnessing those precious "first time" moments – seeing kids experience their first camping trip, catch their first fish, or complete their first hike. These are significant life experiences that they might remember forever. What's even more amazing is that this impact extends beyond the kids to the adults and teachers who join our trips. We're breaking generational barriers right here in Indiana. Once people experience nature with us, it becomes a familiar part of their lives rather than something alien or intimidating." Read the rest of the interview on our blog!: https://lnkd.in/gP22dvpt At Camptown, we’re committed to creating outdoor experiences that build confidence, resilience, and hope. Just like Maggie, we can all work to bring ourselves closer to the causes we’re most passionate for - join us in supporting this mission and helping more young people thrive.
