For the month of July, our Who I Am Foundation volunteers in #Albuquerque are hosting our 11th Annual Back-to-School Supply Drive to help children in need begin the school year with all of the tools they need for academic success. With so many uncertainties about how children will return to school and what the classroom will look like, they need your help more than ever. Families with children in K-12 spent a projected $519 per child on back-to-school needs last year. For families in low-income neighborhoods, the costs are simply not realistic. Donating new school supplies to children in disadvantaged communities will make an impact on their ability to begin the school year school-ready. Items we are collecting: -Pencils -Pens -Composition Books -Combination Locks -Scientific Calculators -5-Subject Notebooks -Tissues -Hand Sanitizer -Wet Wipes -Trapper Keepers -Colored Pencils -Markers -Protractors -Paint Sets -Glue Bottles -Notebook Paper -Highlighters -Scissors -Sharpeners -Pocket Folders To donate, simply comment below and we'll have a volunteer coordinate a donation pick up!! #TeamWhoIAm_Albuquerque

A little off topic today but this is near and dear to me. As a parent and advocate for education, I've witnessed firsthand the incredible impact of the GT (Gifted and Talented) program on our children's lives. Unfortunately, due to state budget cuts, our daughter's GT program, SPIRAL, is facing imminent restructuring, which would significantly diminish the quality of instruction next year. But there's hope, and you can be a part of it. The PTA is rallying support to preserve the SPIRAL program through donations to the Spring Branch Educational Foundation (SBEF). Your contribution will directly aid in sustaining this vital program, ensuring that our children continue to receive the enrichment and education they deserve. Here's how you can help: 1. Click here to donate through PayPal: https://lnkd.in/gtz5uzkt (Note: PayPal fees apply, and covering these fees would be immensely helpful.) 2. Mail a check made out to Spring Branch Educational Foundation with "Save SPIRAL" in the memo line to: Spring Branch Education Foundation Attention: Save SPIRAL 955 Campbell Rd., Suite 206 Houston, TX 77024 Your generosity will make a significant difference in the lives of our students. Plus, your donation is tax-deductible, as SBEF is a 501c3 organization (EIN# 76-0392316). #EducationMatters #SupportOurStudents *31% of SPIRAL kids come from Title 1 schools.

For most of us, it's probably not normal to spend our own money just to do our job. For teachers, unfortunately it is. Teachers spend an average of $860 out of pocket on school supplies each year so their students won’t go without. At AdoptAClassroom.org, we help teachers get the funding they need to equip students with essential learning tools and materials, without having to dig into their own pockets. If you’re interested in learning more about what we do or how you can help, visit us at https://lnkd.in/gTWVNK9c BONUS: This week is Teacher Appreciation Week. If you’d like to show your support for teachers with a donation, donations to AdoptAClassroom.org will be DOUBLED all week*, so your dollar will make an even bigger impact. Education is the key to unlocking a brighter future for every child. However, there are children in our local community who face challenges in accessing basic school supplies, hindering their learning and growth. Let's come together and make a difference in their lives by supporting our upcoming donation drive for school supplies in Naic, Cavite. What do we need? We are seeking donations of new or gently used school supplies to provide to children in need. Here is a list of items that would greatly benefit these young learners: 1. Notebooks 2. Pens, pencils, and erasers 3. Crayons, markers, and colored pencils 4. Rulers and scissors 5. Glue sticks and tape 6. Backpacks and school bags How can you contribute? You can support this noble cause by donating any of the items mentioned above. If you have extra school supplies that are in good condition or are willing to purchase new supplies, your contribution will make a significant impact. If you are unable to donate physical items, monetary donations are also welcome. We will utilize monetary contributions to purchase additional supplies or cover any related expenses. Together, we can make a difference! Please help us spread the word about this donation drive by sharing this post with your friends, family, and colleagues. Do you remember those excursions you took in primary school? How about when you had someone come in an speak to you about mental health? Remember the fun you had and how much you learned. Now imagine not being able to have this chance because the school can’t afford to send you. It's really important to have these experiences throughout school but lots of schools aren’t as lucky to be able to afford to run these programs on their own. With your help we can give these students the chance to have these experiences. Every dollar helps students get experiences they wouldn’t get just because of where they live. Right now all donations are doubled. For $30 you can ensure a student can attend an excursion, for $45 you can ensure 6 children get to attend an in-school session on wellbeing, for $400 you can pay fund half the cost of transport for a whole class. Donate now to double your impact. Donate at https://lnkd.in/g2nyQT-d

How do Playtime programs prepare children for a healthy, happy, and stable future? Our trauma-informed play curriculum is designed to support social-emotional learning skills, problem-solving skills, and optimism and hope for the future. Play is fun but it's also integral to a child's healthy development, especially for children experiencing housing insecurity or other trauma. If you are able, a donation (of any amount!) to our Spring Campaign between now and May 15 makes a difference. Every gift helps us reach our total goal of $60,000 by May 15. 🗞 Read the blog: https://bit.ly/blog0424 💟 Learn more and donate: bit.ly/springcampaign24 #SpringIntoPlaytime #playtimeproject #playequity #playforall #playmatters #socialemotionallearning #childhooddevelopment #DoMore24 #socialemotionalskills #playtherapy #playlearning #playbasedlearning #powerofplay #traumainformed #childdevelopment

Understanding the critical role books play in children’s lives and the difficult choices parents face between buying food or educational materials highlights the challenges we’re addressing. It’s unsettling to see children having to write multiple subjects in a single, limited notebook, which can be both distracting and distressing. This situation disproportionately affects children in rural and low-income areas. Our book donation and educational material support projects are ongoing efforts to alleviate these challenges. Your support in donating books will help us make a greater impact and improve the learning experience for these children. Together, we can create a brighter future for every child, regardless of their circumstances
