Who Did The Real Work? 🌲 A Salute to Women's Unseen Labor. As we reflect on the magic of the holiday season, acknowledging the invisible labor that makes Christmas truly special is well worth a pause to be grateful. It's a well-known fact that women often do the heavy lifting to ensure the festivities go off without a hitch. From planning the perfect family gatherings to wrapping gifts and cooking elaborate meals, their contributions are immense and often go unnoticed. 1️⃣ The Emotional Labor: Women frequently shoulder the emotional labor of maintaining family traditions, ensuring everyone feels included and cherished. This unseen effort is fundamental to the warmth and joy we associate with the holidays. 2️⃣ The Planning and Coordination: Behind every seamless holiday celebration is meticulous planning and coordination. Women often take on the roles of organizers, ensuring that everything from the tree decorations to the holiday menu is perfect. 3️⃣ The Dual Burden: For many women, the holiday season adds an extra layer of responsibility on top of their everyday roles, whether at work or home. Balancing professional duties with the demands of holiday preparations is no small feat. 4️⃣ The Cultural Expectations: Society often places the expectation of holiday cheer squarely on women's shoulders. This cultural norm can lead to feelings of stress and pressure to meet an idealized version of Christmas. It's time we recognize and appreciate the immense labor that women invest in making the holiday season magical. Their efforts should not be taken for granted or go unrecognized. #WhoTheHeckMovedMyTiara #HolidayHeroes #InvisibleLabor #WomenEmpowerment #Equality #HolidaySeason.

As the holiday season approaches, the festive cheer can quickly transform into a whirlwind of demands, leaving us feeling like master jugglers trying to balance work and the magic of the season. In the article The Gendering of Holiday Labor, author Judith Shulevitz calls this the “triple shift. The holiday shift.” The article included this note: A 1990 study examined the different ways men and women perceive holiday shopping. Women in the study felt “compelled to do the ‘work,’” which often involved “kin-keeping,” or maintaining social ties. Christmas shopping was determined to be “women’s work:” they were the primary gift-givers and spent more on shopping than men. According to the study, “women appear to be socialized to take it quite seriously as real and important work.” So, as you move into the holiday season, it might be time to set some boundaries and create some self-imposed rules to allow you to enjoy the season, too. Here are some ideas: 👉 Embrace the chaos 👉 Prioritize your priorities 👉 Create a festive calendar 👉 Bring joy to the workspace 👉 Master the art of saying no 👉 Delegate like a pro Read the article here for more! https://lnkd.in/gS2d-6KD #holidays #selfcare #inspire

🎄 Holiday Season Thoughts: Are We Truly Inclusive? 🎄 December is a time for cheer, celebration, and connection — but let’s reflect for a moment: are our festive plans really welcoming everyone? Recently, a friend shared how they dread holiday parties. Not because they dislike celebrating, but because they often feel out of place amidst heavy drinking and late-night revelry. For many queer folks, introverts, or anyone who values their personal boundaries, these gatherings can feel more alienating than inclusive. Let’s get real—there are countless reasons someone might say no to a drink or late-night party: 🧡 Protecting their mental health 🌱 Prioritizing physical well-being ⛪ Religious beliefs 🕊️ Wanting a quieter connection And guess what? They don’t owe anyone an explanation. This year, how about we rethink how we celebrate? Here’s a simple idea: 💡 Inclusive celebrations. Imagine midday festive lunches with laughter, games, and meaningful conversations. Why it works: ✅ No one feels pressured to drink or explain why they’re heading home early. ✅ Caregivers can join without worrying about childcare. ✅ Everyone gets to celebrate without sacrificing comfort or personal boundaries. The goal isn’t to ditch traditions but to make space for everyone to feel included. Because true celebration isn’t just about raising glasses; it’s about raising spirits. So, here’s my challenge to you this season: ✨ Plan with care. Celebrate with intention. Create spaces where everyone belongs. What are your ideas for rethinking holiday celebrations? Share below — I’d love to hear them! Cheers! Sonali #InclusiveHolidays #QueerInclusion #Belonging #IntentionalCelebration #RedefiningTradition

Dear linkedln family Today i am sharing my opinion with you all and its about women's public holidays and working environment. i dont understand why these coporate, hospitality and others organization celebrate these so call teej and womens day? what is the meaning behind such holidays? if they cant treat their female employees well. if they couldn't and can'tunderstand females problem, their emotions at work place. if they can't be empathetic? if they can't split a vibes of happiness at workplace. if they even can't uplift them up, if they can't even play a small role for their career growth? then what does the meaning behind celebrating teej and womens day? Does it has any value? On the name of teej and womens day, just providing varieties of food, providing gifts doesnt pretend the meaning of womens public holidays. Give respect to the women from buttom of heart, dont show your devil looks towards women. Dont make us feel that you used us for your benefit, Do give attention towards our emtions, cycle time and health. your small concerns toward womens highlights actual meaning of womens public holidays. Dont do show up for us that you do care for us? awww its hurt, well educated and experienced bosses are there even then there is a illusion of their personality, tag of so cool boss, understandable boss, fair boss, good looks, soft heart blaa blaa blaaa..but its just a illusion only. why cant they use their own brain? why cant they listen to their heart sometimes? why cant they become fair to each and everyone? why they just see the things what others show them and whisper into their ear? why cant they filter the things in their own way? where is work place flexbility? why they just see short refreshment lunch with colleagues? why cant they see their efficiency, hard work, honesty, loyalty, creativity towards their company's work. why they just try to see the loopholes? why cant they guide? why cant they do a proper communciation? where is humanity? why they humiliate for small flaut? why their policies and protocol only applied for innocent employees? its just because they are not their relatives or family member or from top level managers/bods/friends/politicians reference why biaseness? where is empathy???? Boss play crucial role to create a healthy work environment and healthy work enviromnent emerge positive energy/attitude towards work which has positive impact towards productivity of the company. #linkedin #linkedlinfamily #joblife LinkedIn

It's mid-November and your organization may now be looking at the 2025 calendar and thinking about the holidays that will be celebrated either a formal holidays (the office is closed) or as #FloatingHolidays. Your recognition of those holidays speaks volumes to your current and future staff. The number of #holidays being celebrated across the #UnitedStates is growing and becoming more diverse. Is your organization following along? You might say that your staff is not diverse and doesn't care of these holidays. Do you know that for sure? Have you educated them (and yourself) about why these various holidays are important? Have you thought about the future workers you want to employ? Could these celebrations help your staff think about #diversity #equity #inclusion #belonging in a different way or from a different point of view? Could people find common ground around a celebration, even if the holiday is not their own? https://lnkd.in/ewm5EQnD

Majority Don’t Give Holiday Gifts in the Workplace... According to recent CivicScience data, only one in eight respondents give holiday gifts to their colleagues ‘often,’ while a larger segment only does so ‘sometimes.’ However, most rarely or never participate in this practice (61%). The data highlights several demographic factors that influence these gift-giving habits. Higher-income earners, particularly those making over $50,000 annually, are more inclined to give gifts frequently. This trend is mirrored among those with higher education levels, such as those holding bachelor’s degrees or higher. Additionally, women are more likely than men to engage in gift-giving, whether often or occasionally. While the act of giving can be a source of joy and connection, it also intersects with the broader challenges and stresses of the holiday season. #workplacestress #workplacetrends #holidayseason https://lnkd.in/gbH3ripx

Recognizing colleagues on their special day fosters a sense of belonging, appreciation, and connection. These seemingly small gestures go a long way in building a positive and healthy office environment. When we take the time to acknowledge personal moments, like birthdays, we reinforce a culture of care and respect. It’s a simple yet powerful reminder that our colleagues are more than just teammates—they are individuals with lives, dreams, and journeys that deserve recognition. This creates an inclusive atmosphere where everyone feels valued, not only for their work but also for who they are as people. When we invest in celebrating each other—whether it’s through birthday wishes, small acts of kindness, or just lending a listening ear—we create an environment of trust and empathy. This kind of atmosphere leads to higher engagement, stronger teamwork, and better overall well-being.
