Choosing compostable packaging can help enhance a brand's existing image while attracting new, eco-conscious consumers. This, in turn, expands the brand's overall reach. Additionally, by diverting packaging from landfills, compostable bags contribute to overall waste reduction. However, there are slight challenges around the use of compostable coffee bags. Effective composting requires a specific facility or at-home composting setup, and not all regions may have access to this. Therefore, compostable bags may end up in waste streams, undermining their decomposition benefits. This is why brands must ensure custom coffee bags are compostable in the area. Beyond this, consumer awareness is crucial as improper disposal could damage a brand's reputation. #specialtycoffee #specialitycoffee #coffeebag #coffeepackaging #packagingdesign #coffeeshop #coffeeroasters #coffeeroastery #roastedcoffee #coffeebeans #specialtycoffeeroaster #coffeepeople #roastedcoffeebeans #coffeeexperience #kahve #kaffeerösterei #kaffee #baristadaily #brewedition #coffee #roastingcoffee #coffeeroasters #specialitycoffeeroasters #coffeebranding #coffeemarketing

Product freshness is a primary concern for brands switching to compostable coffee packaging materials. The step toward sustainability cannot mean compromising the quality of the coffee. Unlike traditional plastic packaging, which can pollute the environment for decades, compostable coffee bags mitigate pollution and contribute to soil health when adequately disposed of. Additionally, compostable materials help align with promoting a circular economy, where waste is minimized and resources are reused or regenerated. #specialtycoffee #specialitycoffee #coffeebag #coffeepackaging #packagingdesign #coffeeshop #coffeeroasters #coffeeroastery #roastedcoffee #coffeebeans #specialtycoffeeroaster #coffeepeople #roastedcoffeebeans #coffeeexperience #kahve #kaffeerösterei #kaffee #baristadaily #brewedition #coffee #roastingcoffee #coffeeroasters #specialitycoffeeroasters #coffeebranding #coffeemarketing

Linea Caffe is overjoyed to introduce the arrival of our all-new, fully compostable coffee bags. After extensive research, we are proud to package our all-organic lineup of coffees in these new, plant-derived, 100% home- and industrial-compostable bags. (We think they look great, too.) As of this month, you'll begin to see these compostable bags on our 250g retail coffees. As the climate crisis intensifies, Linea has joined the international movement to save our home planet, before it’s too late. Our mission has always been to partner with the world’s most progressive organic coffee farmers, and environmentally friendly producers and importers, but we recognize that this is not enough—that every aspect of our business must seek to improve our impact on the planet. Reducing our waste footprint through compostable bags is one important step we're proud to be now taking. The new bags are Grounded Packaging's Plantcell™ laminate, made from a blend of materials derived from eucalyptus, paper sugarcane, wheat straw and cassava root—elements that make the bags compostable and biodegradeable without breaking down into microplastics. The bags are BPI-certified compostable and, if you live here in the San Francisco Bay Area, can go right into your Recology green bin. Just remove the letterpress label sticker and add to your compost collection. It's that simple! Thank you, as always, for being part of our important journey towards preserving the earth. Linea Caffe

What makes our new Decaf Coffee more sustainable? 🌿 Decaf coffee is often decaffeinated in Canada and Germany, far from wherever it is grown. Colombia and Mexico are two of the only countries that decaffeinate their coffee onsite, radically decreasing the travel miles (and carbon imprint) of their decaffeinated coffee. The Sugarcane Process uses ethyl acetate, a natural by-product of the sugar production process found in molasses. This is an incredible example of a circular production cycle, as coffee producers use the resources they already have around them. And the decaf coffee that results from this process preserves the original flavour of the beans, resulting in a tastier, more sustainable brew.
