Remixing Reality on smart glasses? Yup. The plan has always been: Build up content on smart phones, so it will be ready for launch day of consumer #AR glasses. I don't have any access to smart glasses yet, but here is a rough #prototype showing some voice and natural gesture interfaces vs the buttons, menus and screens you find on a mobile device. The form factor will change, but we're ensuring the magic of our experiences will stay the same. Rule #1 of a #KillerProduct: Meet people where they are. Our system began its life this year on #SmartPhones because there are billions of these devices already. Will we get billions of mobile customers? Maybe. Will we get hundreds of millions of customers? Definitely. Rule #1 of a #KillerCompany: Be in the right place to ride a paradigm shift. One day, the smart phone will die. My job is to figure out where everyone will move to and be there early to welcome them with things they'll be looking for. Will we get every smart glasses customer? You betcha. :) Many huge players in tech think smart glasses will replace smart phones. They each have their own reasons. My reasons are simple: society accepts that people wear glasses all the time and people want to always be connected to information/entertainment but not disconnected from each other. 2024 was the year we #bootstrapped our company to see what we could build. Our product, Remixing Reality, continues to blow my mind. Even if we never added another feature, the tool set it exposes is phenomenal. We converted fans with early builds, to ensure we were on the right track and building what people wanted. 2025 is the year we launch on the Google Play and Apple App stores. While helping mobile users experience and generate great content, we will be working behind the scenes, porting our system to smart glasses. I can't wait to have a shared experience between someone on a phone and someone wearing glasses. This isn't my year end post. There's some big news I'm saving to share on that, so stayed tuned. There's just a little more work to do to hopefully blow minds and prove how serious our company is on its mission. My thankful shout outs to: Anthony Tanaka for making everything I do look so dang good. My fave AR company, Niantic, Inc., for making the Niantic Spatial Platform (to my homies Joe Gabriel and Chanel P.). Thanks to Unity for a wonderful engine that layers our imagination atop the real world. Supabase deserves recognition for their backend platform that's just magical to me. Extra special shout out to Snap Inc. (their Spectacles team and Charmaine Lee) for prompting me to provide them this preview of what Remixing Reality could look like and work on glasses. Meta, looking forward to digging deeper into Occulus Start and hopefully playing with Orion. Lastly, David Murray-Hundley The Grumpy Entrepreneur, hard to believe it has only been 6 months, but looking forward to working with you for years to come bringing our vision to the masses.

Here is how competition is ramping up: "#Meta plans to add displays to its #RayBan #smartglasses as soon as next year, as the US tech giant accelerates its plans to build lightweight headsets that can usurp the smartphone as consumers’ main computing device. The $1.5tn social media group is planning to add a screen inside the $300 sunglasses it makes and sells in partnership with eyewear group #EssilorLuxottica, according to people familiar with the plans." #XR #AR #hardware

Ultraleap Is Bringing Haptic Touch to Cars and VR Headsets The joint company is working to integrate the two into a #device that gives you tactile feedback as it tracks your hands. The resulting product would be one that would bring a sense of weight to the #virtual landscape. Ultrahaptics isn’t the first attempt to address this. A common solution involves wearing a pair of gloves with more traditional haptic motors — like the kind found on phones — built in. Carter doesn’t believe that adding more wearable tech into the mix is the solution most XR users are looking for. Instead, the system would take the form of a small “puck” that sits on the floor, sending waves up to the hands. This isn’t the only configuration the #technology can work in. Much like the earlier Leap Motion product, it would be possible to mount a device to the front of the visor, but directionality is important. The ultrasound waves create a sense of resistance. If they’re coming off the user, however, the force moves in the opposite direction. #headsets #virtualreality

You're about to witness the birth of a new digital dimension. But are you ready for the consequences? Samsung's upcoming XR headset isn't just another gadget—it's a gateway to a world where reality and virtuality blur. Imagine a future where your smartphone becomes a window into augmented experiences, shared with friends wearing smart glasses. It's closer than you think. This technology promises to revolutionise how we work, play, and interact. But it also raises questions about privacy, addiction, and the nature of reality itself. As we stand on the brink of this XR revolution, we must ask ourselves: → Are we prepared for a world where digital and physical realities constantly intersect? → How will this change our relationships, our work, and our perception of the world? → What safeguards do we need to ensure this technology enriches rather than dominates our lives? The future is knocking. How will you answer? #XRRevolution #DigitalEthics #TechFuturists

Qualcomm, Samsung, and Google's latest project—a pair of mixed-reality smart glasses connected to smartphones—marks a major leap for XR technology, particularly in education and training. By offloading processing and battery needs to smartphones, these glasses promise lightweight, affordable solutions for immersive learning experiences. This shift from bulky headsets to compact, practical wearables will accelerate XR adoption in classrooms and training environments, making it easier to integrate interactive simulations, virtual field trips, and hands-on training without the discomfort or high costs of traditional devices. As XR becomes more accessible, expect it to transform how we learn and develop skills. https://lnkd.in/gMdGdXUe #XR #Education #Training #SmartGlasses #ImmersiveLearning #EdTech

iPhone killer is here or it is? 🎉 Exciting times ahead in the world of wearable tech! Meta’s new prototype, Orion, promises to redefine our digital experiences. Combining AI glasses, hand gesture tracking bands, and an AR toolkit, it's poised to revolutionize productivity with voice, hand, and eye tracking capabilities. 🤖✨ But with big players like Apple, Google, and Snap also entering the fray, the race to become the next iPhone killer is fierce. Zuckerberg’s acknowledgment of design and usability challenges, coupled with the steep $10,000 price tag, shows there’s still a way to go. Yet, these are far more human than the likes of Quest and Apple Vision Pro. 🌟 Let’s not forget the simpler, yet impressive RayBan Meta glasses powered by the Llama Model, which promises to keep getting better. With live AI video processing announced, computing is getting closer to our eyes. 🤯👓 In the early childhood years, I remember being coached to keep safe distance while watching anything on digital screen to protect our eyes. As a PM, what critical additions would you make to Orion to ensure the vision well-being or end users? #Meta #WearableTech #AI #AR #Innovation #ProductManagement #VisionCare #FutureOfTech #MyPMShot #PMPreparation #InterviewGuide Image Credits: Meta via TechCrunch
