The average new person coming into the insurance industry leaves after about 4 years on average according to the last information I saw on the subject. Until the retention issue is corrected attracting new people is a waste of time. Guess which generation likes being micromanaged and overworked? None of them! Technology will play a huge role obviously but it will only enhance what is already there. If claims handling basics and hiring the right people (and then letting them do their job) aren't implemented the outlook for the industry is not good.
