Wise words contained in this post. Check it out!
This is what collective impact looks like! We cannot do the the work we do alone! We cannot make infinite impact being siloed and disengaged from community. We acknowledge that in order to provide safe, nurturing spaces for boys and masculine-identified youth, we need support. Using a data driven approach, we have worked with Lance Meeks to identify and hold spaces in communities that need them most. Thank you Goodwill Industries of Southern Arizona for your partnership and committment!

The findings of Dr. Charelsworth's 'Don't Look Away' report are staggering, not for the faint of heart, and something everyone must see. It's true, we mustn't look away at this moment where we need to dig deep and radicalize the historically broken foster care system. Minster Lore's response to the report, promising to work cross-ministerially to create a strategic and aligned plan is formidable. Including Housing in this process will be critical to ensuring the long-term safety and security of youth in care. "Supporting child and youth well-being requires an all-of-government approach. It requires working together with community partners, First Nations and Indigenous communities. We must do things differently and are committing today to a new vision for child well-being that focuses on prevention, care and a new way of thinking," said Grace Lore, Minister of Children and Family Development. https://lnkd.in/g-_fyvit https://lnkd.in/gSDahY3r

Woke up thinking of my Bright Spot day with Wallsend Children’s Community Team and some of the Save the Children UK team. The stories of exhaustion, of parents working so f**king hard for their children. Of totally unfair deprivation predicting a child’s path, even life expectancy. And then the work of their team. Defying the odds, giving hope to children and parents. Giving them their first ever bit of praise, of support. Helping the schools, nurseries, mums, dads all to be their best selves. To rise up. To change the narrative. Not just for Wallsend but taking what they’ve learnt across the UK. Helping other groups, other communities, other regions. To help change the future for others too. A tiny team packing a mighty punch. 🥊

It's Family Day and we're highlighting things that Connecticut families need to thrive: 👨🏽👩🏽👦🏽👦🏽 Affordable Housing: Increased access to affordable housing options, rent assistance programs, and initiatives to prevent homelessness can help families maintain stable living conditions. 👨🏽👩🏽👦🏽👦🏽 Quality education: Equitable funding for public schools, access to early childhood education, and programs to support students with special needs can ensure all children receive a high-quality education. 👨🏽👩🏽👦🏽👦🏽 Youth Programs and Opportunities: Investment in youth programs, community centers, and summer activities can help young people stay engaged, learn new skills, and build positive futures. 👨🏽👩🏽👦🏽👦🏽 Family Support Services: Access to family support services, including parenting classes, respite care for caregivers, and family counseling, can provide critical assistance in managing these challenges. By addressing these needs through community engagement, policy changes, and targeted support programs, Connecticut can help ensure that all families have the resources and opportunities they need to flourish.

As an AmeriCorps alum, I’ve experienced firsthand how service can build bridges. This quote deeply resonates with me: "The deep distrust we feel toward each other won’t be legislated away — it has to be lived away, rebuilt person by person, community by community. Amidst the noise, there’s a quiet force that can begin to repair what’s broken: service." In times of division, service brings us back to what truly matters—community, shared purpose, and trust. It’s not just about the work we do; it’s about the relationships we build and the hope we inspire. Showing up for one another and rebuilding trust can happen through one act of service at a time. #AmeriCorps #Service #CommunityImpact
Please read and share my new op-ed and let me know your thoughts! “Let’s stop waiting for direction, or for someone else to lead the way. Let’s start with each other — and start giving back. Because in service, we don’t just see humanity — we reclaim it.” https://lnkd.in/ebgY89di

These five children are future world-changers. Because our families have vision… 🌳 …for our family trees, committed to planting ones that are less about the past and more about the future we’re intentionally creating… 🤝 …for our relationships, knowing relational health (beginning in the family) is the foundation of care for our physical, mental, and emotional health… 🌅 …for our impact, creating a family culture of interdependence that means, “I serve us, so we can serve others.” That’s what I envisioned as I watched these five dear friends work together to raise a sail along the coast of Maine last week. Because of the work our families are doing together, our children are not coasting aimlessly. Instead, they’re embracing the power of relationships, connection, and collaboration. They’re setting the sails, charting the course, creating the future. Sadly, so many families are coasting, not having the support they need to raise the sail that is a clear and powerful vision - rooted in who you uniquely are, individually and collectively. Renala is out to change that. Your family doesn’t have to coast. The future of your family does not have to repeat the cycle of the past. And you don’t have to do it alone. Let’s work together to raise the sails of vision so you can have the impact you long for in your family - and your leadership in every sphere of your life. ⬇️⬇️⬇️ I’m launching a new online community in the next few weeks called The Family Circle to help more families step into a powerful vision. Drop a YES below if you want to stay in the loop! 📽: Co-creating life, family + business with Harris III & Kate Harris!

We will have eight families this year move into a home they own, not rent. These are first time, often first generation, homeowners. Eight families. Over 20 children. Children who will grow up thinking owning a home is normal, not some pipe dream. Come join us as we move toward our goal of adding 300 engaged home owners in North Chicago to create the tipping point in community revitalization. https://lnkd.in/grGAQBbm
