Royal New Zealand Navy Rescues Sailors in Storms. The morale of the Royal New Zealand Navy can understandably be expected to be at low following the loss of the HMNZS MANAWANUI off Samoa. Regardless of the circumstances that lead to the sinking on the reef, there has been incredible service from the many many dedicated men and women of the Royal NZ Navy who have and will continue to serve. Things that go wrong get more attention than things that go right. No the MANAWANUI shouldn't have grounded, it did, what happens next matters MORE. There will be investigations. I expect findings will be that it wasn't a "single" decision that caused this. Likely it was a series of decisions over weeks or months, some made above the vessels Leadership, and before the deployment, that were a multi piece contribution to this sinking. If this is the case, we refer to this in Risk Management and Risk Assessment as the "Swiss Cheese Model". Where no single decision, action, tactic on its own cause a "failure", in this case "sinking" but when multiple issues combine, bad outcomes become more likely, or in some cases inevitable. The picture link is a 2:54min video about the rescue of a sailor by the crew of HMNZS TE MANA. This second link https://lnkd.in/gfaPbvW8 is for another rescue conducted by an incredibly humble Royal New Zealand Naval Officer, Simon Wasley who swam a rescue line over to a disabled yacht in terrible sea conditions from the Offshore Patrol Vessel HMNZS OTAGO. Sometimes we can work to place the right person/people/team into the right place, at the right time. People with planning, preparation and a willingness to go into harms way defines people who serve. There are some incredibly talented and dedicated sailors, soldiers, and air force pilots, ground crew, and their support staff who do their best to run their military capabilities to the best they can as individuals and more importantly team members with the resources they have. Please do not judge them on the grounding of MANAWANUI. They're better than what that outcome might suggest. #AkeAkeKiaKaha - ....Be Strong.... #RNZN #NZArmy #RNZAF #NZDF #TeTauaMoanaOAotearoa #NgatiTumatauenga #PerArduaAdAstra Hon Judith Collins KC MP

SENEGAL !! My second post!! You want to feed people and keep your fishing stocks away from Greedy Poachers of this highly intellectual greedy world!! DO THIS!! Just a thought !! You can pay people on fishing boats to do this with creative African thinking?? Plus if you read previous post about my upside down fishing net tearing Concept!! Just think what ever you dump in there including airplanes, should become a tourist attraction for diving?!! Dump a couple of air craft carriers decommissioned as environmental?? Only acceptable if all crapp taken out and sunk strategically on your coast line. Another thought!! Also this should create fishing without nets, at some point!! A Barrier REEF FROM JUNK!!

Lying on the seabed in the Pacific Ocean are oil tankers, fighter aircraft and warships from Japan and Allied powers that went down as a result of ferocious battles 80 years ago. Experts estimate there are more than 3,000 wrecked vessels scattered across the Pacific Ocean, with around 1,000 of those in waters in the Melanesian and Micronesian regions, near island nations such as the Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea, Palau and the Federated States of Micronesia. https://lnkd.in/dE9Npn3x
