In the context of networking and business, the phrase "Givers Gain" often emphasizes the power of generosity in fostering relationships and driving success. But it's important to remember that this principle extends far beyond just business transactions. True giving involves investing time and effort in our communities. Whether it’s volunteering, mentoring others, or supporting initiatives, these acts of kindness create a ripple effect that benefits everyone involved. When we give selflessly, we not only uplift those around us but also enrich our own lives and businesses. Building a strong community creates a network of support, encouragement, and shared success. Just my 2 cents: Let’s commit to giving more—our time, our skills, and our energy. Together, we can build a strong community where everyone succeeds.👍🏼

In fiscal year 2023, EMpower hosted 41 events around the world that meaningfully engaged young people as spokespersons and/or contributors. For close to 20 years, EMpower has sought to intentionally position and heed the wisdom of young people, especially girls, in our programmes. Today, we are systematically listening to young people and harnessing their perspectives in every region in which we work. This approach comes from a deeply held belief and value: there is no greater expert on the lives of young people than young people themselves. They have deep insights into the challenges they face and possible solutions and opportunities—all based on their lived experiences. Young people have a fundamental place in EMpower’s vision and strategy, and we are committed to creating space more broadly for their voices in philanthropy. #Happy New Week!!! Trust me, there’s a problem waiting to be solved right in your neighborhood. That small act of kindness you think is insignificant? Do it and you will be amazed at how much it can mean to someone. I remember buying books, pencils, and erasers for some kids living next door. What seemed like a small gesture turned into a moment that touched their hearts and put smiles on their faces. The beauty of volunteering is that it doesn’t have to be something big. Small actions, like helping a neighbor, can have a huge impact. You don’t need a title or a large organization to start making a difference. Just look around you. There’s always someone in need of support, and you can be the one to offer it. Whether it’s helping kids with school supplies, assisting a senior citizen, or even joining a local community group, the first step to making a real difference is often closer than you think—it’s right outside your door. Ready to get started as a local volunteer? Take action today, and watch how even the smallest efforts can create lasting change. My advice for the week: Remember, every small act counts. Start where you are, use what you have, and make a difference in your own unique way. #SocialAdvocate #Volunteering #CommunityImpact #Kindness #SocialImpact #Changemakers

Three years ago, the Generosity Commission was established to address the decreasing percentage of Americans who volunteer and donate to nonprofit organizations. According to some estimates, less than half of U.S. households now contribute their time or money, leading some to describe the situation as a "generosity crisis." Research proves, that giving reduces stress, improves quality of life, connects you to community, and helps you live longer (Cleveland Clinic, 2022). Earlier today, the commission released its report outlining the extent of the issue and proposed solutions. The attached article has several easy to apply solutions for business leaders and educators. https://lnkd.in/ej_U3qGB

It's #NationalVolunteerMonth 🤝🏼 For many nonprofits, volunteers are the heartbeat that keeps your mission alive. And while your volunteers may all support your specific mission, their reason for choosing you and remaining loyal deeply vary. Have you ever wondered how best to bring their unique stories to your audience? In January, we taught a session with our friends at Civic Champs about the process of collecting, organizing and sharing volunteer stories on social channels. Have you ever wondered what makes a community thrive? 🌟 Had the privilege of hearing from Superintendent Dr. Howard Hepburn with Broward County Schools today at Rotary Club of Weston where he amplified firsthand the power of collaboration and community engagement with our scholarships and assistance to the students and schools in our community. Our collective efforts are not just about education or service; they’re about building a stronger, more connected community. Our Rotary initiatives focus on holistic development, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to excel academically and personally. The support from local organizations like ours has been phenomenal, and it’s this unity that drives our success. The Weston Rotary plays a crucial role in this ecosystem. Through various service projects and community events, we’re able to address local needs and foster a spirit of giving back. Whether it’s organizing fundraisers, supporting local businesses, or mentoring young professionals, the impact of our collective efforts is profound. #Interact plays a crucial role for us connecting to the needs of the schools. This is the Rotary High School version! Community updates are essential to keep everyone informed and engaged. Regular communication ensures transparency and allows us to celebrate our achievements together. It also provides a platform to address challenges and brainstorm solutions collaboratively. I believe that the strength of our community lies in our connections. By working together, sharing ideas, and supporting one another, we can create an environment where everyone thrives. Let’s continue to build these connections and make a positive impact. #CommunityEngagement #Education #ServiceAboveSelf #Rotary #janitorial #CommericialCleaning #givingback #redcoats
