Honorable Guests & Esteemed Colleagues, It is a privilege to address you today at the launch of the Warsaw Security Forum Women Parliamentary Network. Our world is becoming more complex by the day. Whether we are talking about geopolitical tensions, climate change, cybersecurity, or humanitarian crises, the security landscape is evolving rapidly. Yet, one thing remains constant: for any of these challenges to be effectively addressed, inclusivity is key. Security, in all its dimensions, affects us all—men, women, and children alike. But for far too long, women have been marginalized in this space. It's time to change that. Why a Women Parliamentary Network? As parliamentarians, we have a unique platform. We can influence legislation, shape policies, and direct national and international attention to critical issues. This network will empower women parliamentarians to work together across borders, learn from each other, and collaborate on strategies that ensure our security frameworks are not just inclusive but effective. Women bring unique perspectives to security, peacebuilding, and conflict resolution. Studies have shown time and again that when women are included in peace negotiations and security decision-making, the outcomes are more durable and sustainable. This is not just about representation; it is about achieving better, more comprehensive solutions to the challenges we face. However, despite these clear advantages, women continue to be underrepresented in decision-making roles, especially in areas of defense and security. This network aims to change that. It will provide a platform where women leaders can exchange ideas, support each other, and ensure that women have a seat at the table—not just as participants but as key decision-makers. Our Commitment to Action This network is more than just a symbolic gesture. We are committed to action. We will: 1. Advocate for policy reforms that promote the inclusion of women in security sectors at national and international levels. 2. Provide an exposure for women parliamentarians to participate in various security & defense meetings. 3. Engage in capacity-building workshops that equip women parliamentarians with the tools they need to lead in these critical areas. Through these actions, we are not only opening doors for women in the security space but also ensuring that the policies we develop are reflective of the diverse needs of the populations we serve. Warsaw Security forum women parliamentary network is A Global Vision , not confined to one region, country, or culture. From Europe to Africa, from the Americas to Asia, the challenges may differ, but the underlying principle remains the same: security must be inclusive to be effective. #Launching_Speech

❓ Where do people in our country get their information from? What media outlets do they most often use and what topics spark the greatest interest among the audience? ❓ What are people’s perceptions on mis-disinformation and how often do they deal with them? How prevalent are gender-based disinformation in our information systems, and what can we learn about it so that we can propose better policies. 🆗 In our latest blogpost, written by our colleagues Lazar Pop Ivanov, Kristina Plecic and Blazhen Maleski, we try to provide an answer to these questions, and offer a sneak peek into the latest data and insights from our research on information integrity. #InformationIntegrity #GenderEquality #SDG5
