Universal Human Rights Month: Celebrating 75 Years of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights This December marks 75 years since the Universal Declaration of Human Rights—a powerful reminder of the ongoing fight for dignity, equality, and fairness for all. At NPWH, we believe that access to comprehensive women’s health services is not a privilege but a fundamental human right. Yet, many still face barriers to equitable care, including disparities in access, quality, and affordability. That’s why we are steadfast in our mission to empower women’s health nurse practitioners and APRNs who care for women and diverse individuals, and advocate for equitable, person-centered care, ensuring that every individual has access to the healthcare they deserve. How are you supporting human rights this month? Whether through volunteering, advocating for women’s health, or fostering conversations about equitable access to care, your actions make a difference. Share your thoughts in the comments, and let’s work together toward a future where health equity is more than a goal—it’s a reality. #UniversalHumanRightsMonth #HealthEquity #HumanRights75 #WHNP #NursePractitioners #CNM

Happy Juneteenth! Today, we celebrate the end of slavery in the US and reflect on the ongoing fight for racial equality. As we celebrate Juneteenth, it's important to consider how healthcare disparities continue to impact communities of color. We need to keep focusing on addressing these disparities and promoting health equity. #Juneteenth.

💪 Empowering Women through Advocacy: Why It Matters 💪 Women have always been at the forefront of advocating for change—whether it’s fighting for equal rights, access to healthcare, or creating supportive spaces for women with chronic illnesses. But the work isn’t done. Here’s why empowering women through advocacy is more important than ever: Breaking Barriers: Advocacy helps break down the barriers that prevent women, especially those with chronic illnesses, from accessing the resources and opportunities they deserve. Amplifying Voices: Women’s voices need to be heard, especially in healthcare and leadership spaces. Advocacy gives them the platform to speak out and push for systemic change. Creating Community: Advocacy builds strong communities where women can uplift one another, share resources, and provide emotional support. Inspiring Future Generations: Empowering women through advocacy today paves the way for the next generation of women to lead with confidence, resilience, and purpose. Challenging Stereotypes: Advocacy challenges outdated stereotypes and societal norms, creating space for women to define their own identities and take control of their narratives. Together, we can empower women to rise above challenges and thrive—especially those who face chronic illnesses. Advocacy is not just about changing policies; it’s about changing lives. 💖 #courageous #invisiblechronicillness #courage #work #thrive #chronicillness #invisibleillness #womenempowerment #advocacy #strongwomen #breakingbarriers #amplifyingvoices #communitybuilding #futureleaders #genderequality 🌐 www.creneesalone.com 📧 crenee@creneesalone.com

🌟 We had an amazing opportunity to attend Senator Amy Klobuchar's Women's Power Breakfast at the Depot this morning. 🌟 Minnesota shines as the only state with two female senators and a congressional delegation that is majority female. This sends an inspiring message to the next generation: Our girls see this and know they can be this. Bravo! 👏 At Let's Talk Women, we are energized to continue our mission of elevating and amplifying women and women's health. Senator Klobuchar emphasized the importance of competent leadership in driving effective public health policies and scientific advancements. Leaders who understand these fields can better navigate challenges and implement evidence-based solutions. However, challenges remain: Certain political nominees lack the expertise or commitment to public health, leading to detrimental policies. The politicization of science undermines public trust and hinders effective health crisis responses. Here in Minnesota, we have the leadership we need to move women’s health forward. We celebrated the importance of women's reproductive freedom and the leadership of Congressional-elect Dr. Kelly Morrison, who will soon bring her voice to Washington to advocate for these essential rights. 💡 How can we support leaders who prioritize public health, science, and women's rights while inspiring the next generation of change-makers? We can do it by working together, and it is going to take ALL OF US! Please Join Us! #Leadership #PublicHealth #ReproductiveFreedom #WomenInLeadership #Resilience #Purpose #AmyKlobuchar #ForwardThinking #LetsTalkHealth

Increasing diversity in research and making studies more inclusive requires reliance on community-engaged approaches that address power imbalances, justified mistrust, and the need for culturally and contextually informed methods to elevate the voices of marginalized communities. This is crucial to inform valid resources, interventions, and best practices, as well as policy and advocacy efforts to create social change. In this infographic, we provide relevant recommendations for community-engaged research: https://lnkd.in/gAvhq5Mv #Research #DecolonizingResearch #CommunityEngagedResearch #Latino #Diversity #Equity #Inclusion

Let's talk #HealthEquity. This is particularly relevant during Pride month as we recognize and lift up the contributions of Black, trans women to the progress made. Marginalized groups have a harder time accessing affordable healthcare and being believed/supported by healthcare providers. What organizations within health equity can we help highlight today? #PrideIsAProtest

Fantastic research out of University of Strathclyde on the experiences of disabled women in politics! We see a lot of similarities between the barriers US and UK-based disabled women experience. The important takeaway? Politics must become more accessible. Read the full piece: https://lnkd.in/e2RAKg5k For more information on the barriers that disabled women face in U.S. politics, read RepresentWomen's 2021 report: https://lnkd.in/eR765eWN Image Description: Strathclyde Women's Week 2024. Dr Stefanie Reher on researching disabled women's experiences in politics: "There are a number of take-aways from our research, but the most important one is that politics needs to become more accessible in order to provide adequate representation of the one in five people in the UK who are disabled. We have found that disabled politicians are often more likely to voice the views of disabled citizens, and their participation in politics as elected representatives is seen as crucial by the disability community. To achieve this, it is important that parties become more aware of the ways in which politics can be inaccessible to many disabled people, and make systematic and concerted efforts to address them." #WomensHistoryMonth #DisabilityRights #Accessibility
