Urgent Alert: The Future of Head Start Is at Risk! Project 2025, a new policy proposal, could have devastating effects on our communities, especially in the rural areas. If implemented, this plan would completely eliminate the Head Start program—a lifeline for countless families who rely on it for affordable, high-quality early childhood education and care. Head Start is more than just a preschool program; it’s a critical resource that helps children thrive, supports working parents, and strengthens our community. Without it, many families will face severe hardships in finding and affording child care, putting our youngest and most vulnerable at a disadvantage. Let’s stand together to ensure every child has a fair start and every family has the support they need. If you would like to submit a video comment about what Head Start or Early Head Start have meant to you and your family, please upload it below or email to agency@shoreup.org. #SaveHeadStart #EarlyChildhoodEducation #ProtectOurChildren #CommunityAction #helpingpeoplechanginglives #headstart #earlyheadstart

Child care challenges impact families statewide, but solutions are within reach. Check out this op-ed in Nogales International by FTF Regional Director Francisco J. Padilla where he shares more about this visit and the need for bold solutions to support Arizona families: https://lnkd.in/g-qJetRB. During a recent visit to Nogales with legislators from Legislative District 21, staff from the #FTFSantaCruzRegion and partners from the Children's Action Alliance highlighted the critical role of family resource centers in supporting parents and caregivers. From the Nogales Family Resource Center to a “cafecito” with local child care providers, Padilla showcased firsthand accounts of resilience, challenges and solutions. Parents shared how these centers foster connection and equip families with tools for early childhood success. Child care providers spoke candidly about affordability, accessibility and the importance of investing in quality early learning. Arizona families deserve access to high-quality early learning opportunities. Investing in children today means better outcomes for our communities tomorrow.

On Children's Day, let's talk about an often-overlooked aspect of raising children with special needs - teaching boundaries. 🌟 While we focus on their unique care requirements, establishing healthy boundaries and understanding consent are equally crucial life skills. Simple daily practices like asking before hugging, respecting their "no," and teaching them about personal space can make a powerful difference. Remember: Children with special needs have the same right to bodily autonomy as any other child. Their different abilities don't diminish their right to consent and personal boundaries. As caregivers and educators, it's our responsibility to create a safe environment where they can learn these concepts at their own pace. This Children's Day, let's commit to empowering ALL children with the tools to understand and express their boundaries. #ChildrensDay #SpecialNeeds #ChildSafety #POCSO #InclusiveParenting #ChildRights #protectchildren

The creation or closure of a child care facility can have a huge ripple effect on an entire local community. Families' ability to work and provide for their families, the success of local businesses, and economic development efforts are all impacted by child care. Unfortunately, the financial strain and an inability to recruit and retain early childhood teachers is contributing to closures across the nation, and we must work toward solutions to stop this from happening in every state. #EarlyChildhoodEducation #WorkforceDevelopment #ChildCareCrisis https://lnkd.in/gcYbPhpK

⭐ What would it look like if quality child care was accessible and affordable for the family of every #infant and #toddler in California? Not only would our youngest children have the developmental support they need, parents wouldn’t have to leave their jobs, businesses would have a reliable workforce, and families could afford to stay in the state. #ChildCare impacts every Californian and their future. Guaranteeing families access to child care isn’t optional, it’s a critical part of ensuring that Californians can live, work, and raise families in the state they love. 💛 As Early Edge California continues to support the successful implementation of Universal Transitional Kindergarten, we are also looking at new ways to strengthen the mixed-delivery system as a whole to support children, ages birth to three years (B-3), their families, and the #EarlyLearning workforce that supports them. Learn more about the current landscape and our vision for supporting #infants and #toddlers on our new #BirthToThree landing page: https://ow.ly/Uq5U50TgVAg

The quality of our family relationships and social structures are a cornerstone of partnership systems. Partnership- or domination-oriented families are a template for politics, economics, and other social institutions. Findings from psychology and neuroscience show that the degree of Partnership or domination in our foundational human relations between women and men, and between parents and children directly affects how our brains develop. Partnership parenting encourages caring family relations that respect and empower children. In Partnership Systems, high quality childcare and caregiver training, good healthcare and multicultural, gender-balanced education is valued economically. Young people learn to respect themselves, others, and the environment and co-create a healthy future.
