The Enchanted Woods | A Tropical Escape of Courts and Meandering Paths https://lnkd.in/g-dwzSuT A landscape design project in Chikhli, Gujarat, exemplifies how thoughtful design choices can transform a 40,000 sqft plot with existing dense orchard area into a sanctuary that complements the natural environment and engages the senses. Designing landscapes is an artful blend of natural beauty and intentional human intervention, shaping spaces that tell a story, evoke emotions, and serve functional needs. Landscape design encompasses much more than mere planting; it involves orchestrating textures, colors, heights, and spatial forms to create an immersive experience. #landscapearchitecture #india #Chikhli #Gujarat

FARMHOUSE 1.0 An opportunity came around to design a Farmhouse with all the Modern amenities and luxury. The brief being that it should look like Farmhouse outside and feel like Goa inside... which made us question "what do people think as the aesthetics of a Farmhouse?" Researching on that we saw boxes with roof as a hat sitting over a piece of land with beautiful vegetation and waterbody around. We felt maybe people are right in their interpretation of taking reference from actual farm huts and village homes with the thatch roof and modest feel. But while taking design decisions we felt a strong urge to use organic flow of lines to compliment the organic aesthetics of nature itself. We felt using sharp angles is like us superimposing our ego over nature. This lead us to create this form which is like a shell when you see it from outside it might appear to be closed a secluded but when you enter inside it surprises you with it's connectivity with the surroundings ... Even though we realize after we made it that It doesn't appear like any other Farmhouse but again back to the questions "what is a Farmhouse?" Is it the aesthetics? Or is it the experience that the built environment creates for an individual ? The question is like a ENIGMA and We are still thinking about that answer... and trying to sketch our way through it ! -ENIGMA design studio #ENIGMA #enigma.ds #enigmadesignstudio #architecture #farmhouse #ahmedabad #india #indianarchitects #indianarchitecture

Residential Architecture @ Jaipur Courtyard House, Jaipur The courtyard house was an exploration to evolve architectural form as a response to the strong context addressing parameters such as climate, amalgamation of local building materials, construction techniques and craftsmanship creating a building which is a reflection of the lifestyle for the residents. The wind movement guides the proportions of the courtyard enabling the spaces to be naturally ventilated and lit throughout the year. Deep colonnaded external verandahs in this semi-arid climatic zone while prevents the excessive heat to directly penetrate into the façade during summers also responds to winters where it is utilized more for outdoor seating. On the other hand, the internal courtyard which reaches deep into the house, blurring the boundary between inside and outside, is an ideal summer gathering space. Designed for a traditional Indian, close-knit joint family that loves spending time with each other, the emphasis is to ensure a variety of semi-open and enclosed common spaces that encourage a sense of togetherness and community spaces that holds a large family together -celebration of 03 generations living together. The courtyard house has series of motifs forming ever-changing shadows on the walls and geometrically designed flooring patterns with the movement of the sun over the day. #residentialarchitecture #CourtyardLiving #ArchitecturalExploration #ContextualDesign #ClimateResponsive #LocalMaterials #Craftsmanship #NaturalVentilation #SustainableArchitecture #ColonadedVerandahs #SemiAridClimate #OutdoorLiving #InternalCourtyard #BlurringBoundaries #TraditionalDesign #JointFamilyLiving #SunShadowPatterns

𝗖𝗿𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗥𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 & 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 At Samashtti Designs, we believe architecture is more than just buildings—it’s an art form, a canvas to weave stories, cultures, and experiences. Our recent work is deeply inspired by Kerala’s rich weaving traditions, where artisans bring life to every thread on the loom, crafting vibrant textiles with skill, patience, and reverence for nature. Just as the weaver creates beauty from local materials, our architectural philosophy also draws from the essence of local craftsmanship and sustainable practices. Each project we design seeks to integrate art, nature, and tradition, creating spaces that are not only beautiful but deeply rooted in local culture. By blending Kerala’s timeless artistry with sustainable, experiential architecture, we aim to create spaces that inspire connection—with both the environment and the heritage around us. At Samashtti, we’re not just designing buildings; we’re crafting experiences that honor the past while embracing the future. #𝗦𝗮𝗺𝗮𝘀𝗵𝘁𝘁𝗶 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝘀 #𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 #𝗔𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 #𝗞𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗮 #𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 #𝗔𝗿𝘁𝗔𝗻𝗱𝗖𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 #𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 #𝗪𝗲𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 #𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗔𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲

”Thinking Hands and Drawing Brains” #ASketchaDay #Day11 Sketch Title: A humble experience at Hridhaya Kunj, Gandhiji’s house, Ahmedabad. Sketch Credits: Godwin Emmanuel Jeyaraj Simplicity at Hridhaya Kunj: A Glimpse into Gandhiji's Living Space Hridhaya Kunj, Gandhiji’s house, is a testament to simplicity. The layout is straightforward, with rooms arranged around a central courtyard. The window details, with their delicate wooden frames, are a striking feature. The roof, supported by slender wooden beams, casts interesting shadows. The courtyard, a space for reflection and meeting, is the heart of the house. The separate rooms for Gandhiji and his wife, Kasturba, reflect their shared living space while respecting their individual needs. It's a humble experience, offering a glimpse into Gandhiji's space, routines, and philosophies. #ArchitecturalSketching #SiteAnalysis #TransectWorkshop #DesignThinking #Architecture #TravelSketching #ArchitecturalJourney #IndiaTravels #ExploreIndia #ArtAndArchitecture #travellingtransectworkshop #Gandhiji #HridhayaKunj #SimpleLiving #HistoricalHomes #Travelogue

Can our rich heritage architecture inspire modern-day buildings? During a recent visit to a heritage property Chomu Palace Hotel in Rajasthan, I was awestruck by the elegance and purpose of its central courtyard. Standing there I could not help but marvel at the beauty of the space. These courts do not only solve a functional problem but also adds to the beauty of the buildings. The court provides several advantages: * Creates an introvert and intimate social space where people can gather and interact. * Naturally cools the surrounding buildings using the principle of stack effect. Helps regulate temperatures and allows cross ventilation especially in the extreme weather conditions of the desert. * Provides shade and shelter during the summer months but also becomes a good hangout space during winters to bask in the sun. Walking in the space just made me (re)realise how much past can offer as a great inspiration. These designs / concepts are timeless and deep rooted both in functionality and sustainability. This is a sort of reminder to each one of us to create buildings that not serves us today but can stand the test of time. #Architecture #HeritageBuildings #SustainableDesign #passivearchitecture #Functionality #ModernArchitecture #DesignInspiration #IndianArchitecture With Eesha Jain Akshay Chachra Basics Architects

#Chai_chat 13 Designing a home is more than just a project! It is being part of a very emotional and an exciting journey of the clients.. Unlike many other typologies, a home is a destination-space for the end users and not a transiting one. This makes it that much more tricky to incorporate all the small and yet significant needs and wants the client would want! A home is also one typology where the age of the client is immaterial. A home should be as welcoming and warm to an infant as to a senior citizen! Hence, designing a home is both a challenge, and an incredible honour! #Chai_chat 12 #residencedesign #architecture #home This here is our design for a Villa in Chennai for #JSWOne
