If you are attending #ClimateWeek in #NewYork this coming September, please reach out. Our team from Island Conservation will be there and we would love to connect and discuss opportunities for partnership and cooperation to build #climate resilience through holistic restoration of #islands. Islands and their populations are on the front lines of the triple planetary crisis of #biodiversity loss, declining #ocean health and the ongoing impacts of #ClimateChange. But beyond what is often seen as their inherent vulnerability, islands are true catalysts for impact, for scaleable solutions, innovative approaches and measurable outcomes that demonstrate the multisectoral benefits that holistic restoration efforts, integrating science-based #ConservationAction, #OceanAction and #ClimateAction alongside genuine community engagement and quality partnerships, can bring. Action on islands can help demonstrate that restoration works, that we can fight the adverse impacts of the #ClimateCrisis, avoid extinctions, accelerate the recovery and strengthen the resilience of invaluable land and marine ecosystems and enhance the lives and livelihoods of communities who live on islands or for whom islands are a source of food security, economic development, cultural integrity and identity. So if you are attending Climate Week, let us know. We'd love to talk with you, share our vision and proven impact and, above all, build partnerships for action to strengthen climate resilience for islands, #nature and island populations worldwide.
Are you going to Climate Week NYC Sept. 22-Sept 27, 2024? We are! 💫
We'd love to hear what events you're most excited about. And, we're always looking to connect with people who care about building climate resilience by restoring islands. Don't be a stranger, reach out and let's get together!

Summer is just around the corner. While this brings joy to many, it also means the arrival of extreme heat across Europe🌡️
The problem is most urgent in cities, as buildings and roads absorb and retain heat, and there’s often reduced vegetation and fewer bodies of water. This means that urban areas tend to be significantly warmer compared to neighbouring rural areas – a phenomenon called the “urban heat island” effect.
With EU support, European cities are preparing for and adapting to the consequences of climate change by embracing both nature 🌳 and technology🖥️.

I don't say this often...but this is a game-changing tool for advocates, government, business and industry associations.
There are many segmentation studies out there, but applying them can often be a challenge. The Five Canadas helps to simplify and make communications better, providing climate communicators with a clear roadmap to understand Canadians—what they care about, their concerns, what resonates with them, who they trust, and, most importantly, how to effectively reach them.
Join our next webinar, where we’ll dive deeper into the research and discuss practical strategies to put these insights into action. It’s a great opportunity to learn together and make climate communication easier and more impactful!

Reaching people about climate change is hard work! It’s not just about sharing facts or policies but it’s about connecting with them where they are. That’s what this segmentation research aims to make easier— how to engage people by helping us understand what they care about, what concerns them, what resonates with them, and who they trust.
The next webinar will share more about the research and provide a number of practical strategies. Join us for an opportunity to learn together how to make this communication work easier and better.
