Ironically, this reflection is from the guy who brought pop-up ads to the internet*. * he has since apologized to the world for writing the code that launched pop-up ads (with the intention to hide banner ads on explicit websites) ** his name is Ethan Zuckerman, no relation to other Zucker-pioneer of social media *** it definitely looks like he’s a RenFaire cosplayer who may also be a DM (Dungeons & Dragons dungeon master) **** regardless of the swords and overall comic book store owner on The Simpsons vibe, he definitely makes some valid points worthy of discussion ***** his dig at Elon Musk here is notable, as he is in the room of some of the highest level conversations around social media safety these days As we move into the era of deep fakes (see Reid Hoffman deep fake himself here https://lnkd.in/d3K3jWxb), disinformation, and particularly in this election season, it’s critical that we all remain diligent and make our voices heard as decisions are made that implicate us all. How do we live in 2024 and Christmas lights are designed with such inferiority and are an absolute epitome of the throw-away culture 🎄😠 ? Ever since I started dreaming about how to make a living beyond cybersecurity I've explored many ideas, products, and services thinking about problems I have in life that could be solved or solved better than they currently are. Christmas lights are surprisingly high on my list. Am I missing something - are there Christmas lights that exist that are: 1.) Pretty to look at 2.) Don't break after a handful of uses =? There are so many ideas I wish I could work but time is the ultimate playing field leveler. For now I'm dedicated to build my new concealed carry product business - stallster.com. If someone knows of actually well-built Christmas lights, please show me! But if not, we need to change the status quo here. Make Christmas Lights Great For Once!
