This week Gnosis approved GIP-100, instructing karpatkey to perform a total of $30 million in GNO buybacks over six months. Key goals of this large-scale buyback program include: 1) Transfer value to long-term token holders by acquiring GNO below its intrinsic value 2) Signal to the market a firm commitment from Gnosis DAO to establish a valuation floor that exceeds book value 3) Attract attention to Gnosis products and community by enhancing the investment appeal of the GNO token Based on Gnosis DAO’s directive, $15 million will be allocated for TWAPs over 6 months, and another $15 million will be used to perform buybacks at karpatkey’s discretion. We have created the first TWAP order of $2.5m worth of wstETH which will run for one month, swapping every 5 minutes using CoW Swap on Gnosis Chain. Single-veneue execution is not likely sufficient for best execution under MiCA. Best execution will need to be achieved and demonstrated for clients.
