Another update for winter-season employers: U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services just updated its H-2B visa cap count for the winter 2024-2025 season. As of September 3rd, 28,848 petitions for workers were received toward the total number of 33,000. Remember, the 33,000 limit only applies to workers outside of the country and/or transferring from a different visa type (ex. J-1 visas). The cap is very close to being reached for winter-season. As a result, U.S. embassies and consulates will not issue any additional EB-2 visas until the new fiscal year begins on October 1, 2024.
