For sure practicing to "look after yourself" is something essentially everyone is having to do in the 21st Digital Century having somehow, sort of, unintentionally lost personal space for any reasonable work/life balance along the way. Restoring some work/life balance without a formal "Right To Disconnect" is going to take some effort, self-advocacy and self-discipline as, it appears breaking the habit of ending-up effectively ON 24/7 suffering separation anxiety or even addiction to the insidious display screen devices is epidemic. https://lnkd.in/d_C_KvjX https://lnkd.in/gdeP-4U https://lnkd.in/dEhe3fX #PublicHealth #DigitalEyeHealth #OccupationalHealth

The new RCI guidelines on BSc Clinical Psychology have left me feeling confused, disappointed, and concerned I shudder at the thought of my 19-year-old self being placed in a therapy room with clients who are already vulnerable due to past adversity, childhood trauma, and current struggles with life transitions, grief, or mental illness Reflecting on the American Psychological Association's code of ethics, particularly the principle of beneficence and nonmaleficence, I worry whether these guidelines truly uphold the commitment to do no harm if we cannot help I sincerely hope the RCI reconsiders these guidelines to prevent placing such young and inexperienced individuals in potentially harmful situations and takes corrective action for the betterment of our profession and the well-being of our clients #MentalHealth #ClinicalPsychology #RCIGuidelines #TherapyEthics #PsychologyStudents #APAethics #DoNoHarm #Beneficence #Nonmaleficence #MentalHealthProfessionals #TherapyRoom #ClientSafety #ProfessionalStandards #YoungPsychologists #PsychologyEducation #EthicalPractice #ProtectVulnerableClients #RCIreform #PsychologyConcerns #MentalHealthAdvocacy

Sophie Turner's quote beautifully illustrates the essence of empathy and hope. As a clinical psychologist, I find it particularly resonant. Turner begins by acknowledging the pain of others, a crucial step in fostering trust and rapport in therapeutic settings. By sharing her observations of individuals triumphing over adversity, she instills hope, a cornerstone of therapeutic intervention. Her message of empowerment, coupled with the assurance that one is not a burden, aligns with therapeutic goals of promoting self-efficacy and combating negative self-perception. In essence, Turner's quote encapsulates the principles of empathy, empowerment, and resilience, all of which are integral to the therapeutic process. #mentalhealth #mentalhealthawareness #psychologist #clinicalpsychologist #motivation #inspiration #sophieturner #innovation
