🎯Authenticity is THE design trend – of the moment and here to stay.🎯 Often times, clients come to me with a style in mind – “A friend just redid her kitchen in the modern farmhouse style, and that’s what I want.” Or, they read about a trend and want to incorporate it into their home – “minimalism,” “maximalism,” “minimalist maximalism”. It’s good to know what you like. And, we can work in any design style and it will done, beautifully. But, here’s the thing – it’s all been done. Let’s consider how to do better: - What can you bring to your home that hasn’t been done before? (Answer: YOU) - What will make your home unique and not resemble your friend's/neighbor's or a replica of a (fill-in-the-blank retail store) showroom? (Answer: YOU) - What can you invest in your home that won’t exist anywhere else? (Answer: YOU) If your spaces could speak, what would they say? 🤔 Good design is functional; it’s beautiful and broadly appealing. But, great design is so much more. What’s the difference? Authenticity. Authenticity is what gives design relevance, longevity, and purpose. It’s what I strive for with my clients. My process puts them at the center of the design from the start. Our work, together, involves understanding their lived experiences and heritage, what’s closest to their heart, what brings them peace and joy, who they share their lives with, their lifestyle and how they impact and move through the world. Then, I incorporate everything I’ve learned about them into a design plan that’s unique to them. The result – an environment that’s deeply personal, spaces that reflect and support them, surroundings that unlock memory and evoke emotion, a house that truly feels like home.🏡 My challenge for my clients, and to my clients, is to bring their story to life. Authenticity is self-expression, and it requires honesty and demands investment. Not just a financial investment, but a personal one. That’s because great design cannot be bought; it’s the result of investing yourself – what you love; what you need; your travels, values, hopes and aspirations. Does authenticity as a design concept and design goal resonate with you? Interior Concept Mood Boards sets the tone & aids concept development Mood boards are highly relevant for residential interiors for several reasons: 1. Visualising Concepts: Mood boards allow homeowners and designers to visually communicate their ideas and concepts for the space. They help bring abstract ideas to life and ensure everyone involved in the project is on the same page. 2. Aesthetic Direction: Mood boards help establish the aesthetic direction of the design, including the color scheme, style, and mood of the space. They serve as a reference point for making design decisions throughout the project. 3. Inspiration and Creativity: By curating images of furniture, materials, textures, and colors, mood boards inspire creativity and spark new ideas. They encourage exploration and experimentation with different design elements. 4. Client Collaboration: Mood boards facilitate collaboration between designers and clients by allowing them to visualize and discuss design options together. Clients can provide feedback and input, ensuring the final design aligns with their vision and preferences. 5. Decision-Making Aid: When presented with multiple design options, mood boards help homeowners and designers make informed decisions by comparing and contrasting different elements side by side. 6. Project Cohesion: By creating a cohesive visual representation of the design concept, mood boards help ensure that all design elements work together harmoniously to create a unified space. 7. Project Planning: Mood boards serve as a roadmap for the project, guiding the selection of materials, furnishings, and finishes. They help streamline the decision-making process and keep the project on track. 8. Communication Tool: Mood boards are an effective communication tool for conveying design ideas to contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders involved in the project. They provide a clear visual reference for what is expected in the final outcome. Overall, mood boards play a crucial role in the design process for residential interiors, helping to translate ideas into tangible design concepts and ensuring the successful execution of the project. A major factor when we consider choosing a home design company for our home interior needs , honestly might relate to any industry is TRUST & CONNECT often as a designer you might do everything right but not be able to read the vision that the homeowner is trying to convey.. and on other occasions it might just come naturally !! Homes are extremely personal spaces where each corner has a story to tell and you should be able to feel that comfort to be able to let your designer in !! Unlike buying a ready made sofa.. and bringing it home .. A design jouney involves a lot of personal sharing , information on family members , their dynamics , their choices , your living habits , your personality traits etc There could be no tried and tested method to find this match .. it is also probably not something that could be academically studied for, but yes to be able to show relevant work done or concepts that would instantly identify with the homeowners aspirationals will surely help you clinche the deal ! And , The only thing that helps you prepare for all genres of design exploration is exposure & curiosity!! Do not be a frog in a pond and feel proud in a fact that you are aware of all the potholes of that constricted place .. dare yourself to flow through the river gathering knowledge to swim with the big fish of the ocean .. However if you find your niche which connects you to the world of design that appeals to you , staying relevant in that pond also works .. in which case you would have to by choice take up projects that are within your chosen design sensibilities .. We Cee Bee Design Studio believe in a set of design principles that set us apart yet we try and keep an open mind to hear your ideas to be able to together create a home that’s both unique & extremely personalised .
