When plastics in the form of unprotected and unstabilized polymers are installed outdoors and above ground, their chemical structure degrades if they are exposed to the weather, resulting in deterioration of their physical properties. It is above all the UV radiation in sunlight that has such an adverse effect on the material properties of PP, PE, and PVC. However, UV radiation also affects the chemical structure of FRP/GRP composites. The fluoroplastics PVDF and ECTFE have a high UV resistance and thus very good aging performance for outdoor installation. So that plastics which in their natural polymeric form have only low UV resistance can be used in outdoor applications, especially over longer periods of time and under intense sunlight, additives in the form of UV-stabilizing compounds are mixed into the plastic materials during production. Such substances are: • UV stabilizers in the form of pigments such as carbon black for PP and PE or titanium dioxide for PVC, changing their color. • Chemical UV stabilizers absorb UV radiation and convert it into heat, with the plastics’ color remaining unaffected. • Hindered amine light stabilizer (HAL) doesn’t absorb UV radiation but removes free radicals generated during the photooxidation of the polymer triggered by this radiation, thus hindering changes in the plastics’ chemical structure. Alongside this UV stabilization of plastics during manufacture, plastic materials installed outdoors can also be protected by coatings blocking UV radiation. The extent to which the UV protection mechanisms can be applied on their own or as a combination of various measures depends primarily on the local conditions, namely the sunlight’s intensity and duration together with the degree of other weathering influences, but also on the long-term durability of the materials specified in the plant’s design. Accordingly, the conditions described above must be taken into account when selecting the plastic materials and the measures taken for their protection in outdoor installations. https://lnkd.in/dhJgcpFD

Pro-Rings are also lightweight and a safe choice for installers. #manhole #stormwater #publicworks #infiltration #sewer
Problem: 10-20% of concrete rings that you purchase arrive already broken, or are damaged when moving them to the jobsite. Solution: Purchase adjustable grade rings made of Expanded Polypropylene (EPP), the same engineered polymer material that has been used in the automotive industry. They do not crack or break during transit, or if you drop them. https://lnkd.in/gGv2T4pa #proring #manhole #manholering

Axial pressure systems on the modern market have several options in their material composition. There are axial fittings made of polymer, specifically PPSU, and the sleeve is made of PVDF, and others are made entirely of brass, as we manufacture. Moreover, in installation, technicians often use both, but which is better ❓ Which one will be more reliable ❓ Which is the most convenient and practical for installation ❓ 🤷 In a professional environment, it's not so clear, every competent technician has his own opinion on this matter. 👨🔧 But for us as a manufacturer we made our choice, producing brass axial fittings, because we find in them a number of advantages compared to polymeric fittings. 👍 For brass coaxial fittings: ✅ Less wall thickness, thus section narrowing is rare or almost non-existent. ✅ The material itself is more reliable than, and therefore it is almost impossible to damage the fittings during installation. ✅High temperature resistance according to all laws of physics, metal has less expansion when heated compared to plastic.🌡 ✅ Brass fittings can withstand more pressure compared to polymer. ✅ The obvious advantage of large diameter brass fittings is significantly greater strength with smaller wall dimensions. Well, as a manufacturer specialized in this field, we trust brass fittings more, because we control the entire production process from being the raw material in the form of brass bars until we obtain an integrated final product, while the raw material for PPSU fittings is a refined product and its quality does not depend on the manufacturer of the final product, but on the manufacturer and supplier of raw materials.🤔 Fittings and sleeve fittings for RTP's Delta System: 🔹 Raw material used – Brass of Russian standard CW617N. 🔹 For pipes with diameters of 16, 20, 25, 32 and 40 mm. 🔹 Standard size – Standard Dimensional Ratio 7.4 SDR. Although we do not rule out that there is a great demand in the Russian market and the markets of neighboring countries for axial systems made of polymer, or any other system for use with cross-linked polyethylene pipes, we can indeed start producing them, but we do not see that there is an urgent need for it and the brass alternative is proving the same at all levels. In the end, and to clarify, what are axial systems? They are pressure fittings used in water supply and heating surfaces with hot water. These fittings are used with polyethylene pipes (PEX or PERT), and as we mentioned above, they are manufactured from several different materials, such as brass and so on our company RTP does, or from polymer i.e. plastic. The recommended retail price for our DELTA System is listed.
