YEFL Ghana, with support from Oxfam in Ghana under the DANIDA Strategic Partnership II Program, held a #GenderTransformativeEducation dialogue across Damongo, Walewale, and Tamale. The series which brought together education stakeholders and government representatives tackled critical issues like #safe and #inclusive school environment, gender responsive reforms in Teacher Education, Education budgeting, and the lack of inclusivity in education, especially for girls and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs). Key insights included the need for safeguarding structures, gender-neutral leadership roles, and diverse #TVET programs to attract both male and female students. Stakeholders also called for increasing resource allocation to TVET and basic education. They also emphasized the need for inclusive infrastructure, such as inclusive infrastructure for PWDs and greater community involvement to tackle barriers like poverty and cultural norms that hinder education. Success stories were also highlighted such as girls excelling in #STEM and community initiatives reducing student absenteeism proving that change is possible with collaboration and action. Together, we can create an equitable education system for all. Stay tuned for updates on this transformative journey! #GenderEquality #InclusiveEducation #EducationForAll Northern Regional Youth Network (NRYN_Ghana)
