As we reflect on the incredible impact teachers have on our lives, it's essential to take a moment to appreciate their hard work and dedication. They shape our future, inspire us to dream big, and empower us with knowledge. Today I will be selecting a local teacher from an elementary school in Greenville County to celebrate! Join me on this journey to celebrate educators around the globe. Here are a few ways you can give back: 1. **Volunteer Your Time**: Offer to help in classrooms, tutor students, or assist with school events. 2. **Donate Supplies**: Teachers often spend their own money on classroom supplies. Consider donating items or funds to help them stock up. 3. **Share Your Skills**: If you have a particular skill or expertise, host a workshop or provide mentorship to both teachers and students. 4. **Advocate for Support**: Engage with local educational initiatives and advocate for resources and funding for our schools. Let’s make a positive difference in the lives of those who dedicate themselves to educating our future generations. Together, we can create a ripple effect of kindness and support. How do you plan to give back to teachers this year? Share your thoughts and ideas in the comments! #CommunityService #SupportTeachers #GiveBack #EducationMatters #EmpowerEducators

Good Monday Morning! We are kicking off our ALL IN FOR KIDS: A Week of Giving campaign today, and invite you to follow along with us on social media throughout this week. We will be sharing more about our programs and how CIS is supporting students to thrive and achieve their goals. ☑️🎓 One of the challenges in our schools today is the significant rise in chronic absenteeism in the wake of the pandemic. Last year nearly 15 million students across the U.S. were chronically absent (missing 18+ days of school). The numbers are similar in Charlotte, with more than 1 in 4 students identified as chronically absent. Chronically absent students cannot succeed if they are not in school. The real reasons kids are absent are numerous and often complex and misunderstood. CIS works hand-in-hand with parents, families, and teachers to help connect students to resources they need to address their attendance challenges and other obstacles keeping them from success. When CIS is present in schools, 99% of our students stay in school. 👉Learn more at cischarlotte.org/aifk-2024, and thank you for joining us to be All In For Kids! #communitiesinschools #cis #cischarlotte #AllinforKids #beingpresentmatters #weekofgiving #donate #nonprofit

🌟 Tips for a Successful Back-to-School Transition 🌟 🎯Establish a Routine 🕰️: Gradually reintroduce a school-year routine a few weeks before school starts. Set consistent wake-up and bedtime schedules to help children adjust their internal clocks and ease the transition back to school. 🎯Review Academic Material 📚: Spend some time each day reviewing key concepts from the previous school year. This can include reading, math exercises, or educational games. It helps refresh their memory and sets a solid foundation for the upcoming year. 🎯Organize School Supplies ✏️: Get a head start on school supply shopping and involve your child in the process. Organizing their supplies and setting up their study area at home can create excitement and a sense of readiness for the new school year. 🎯Discuss Goals and Expectations 🎯: Have a conversation with your child about their goals and expectations for the upcoming school year. Encourage them to set personal and academic goals, and discuss any concerns or excitement they might have. This helps them mentally prepare and feel more in control. Join us in making a difference! 💪 🤝 Become a monthly donor or make a one-time donation to provide essential resources and guidance. Every contribution counts! 💖 👉 Donate at https://lnkd.in/eRjhjTT 🙋♂️🙋♀️ Want to get more involved? Volunteer as a mentor and be the positive influence our youth need. Did you know that most teachers spend at least $500 each year to fund their classroom environment? We purchase snacks, school supplies, classroom decorations, books, organizational equipment, and supplementary curriculum, among other things. In my third year of teaching, I realized that being a teacher didn't have to mean going broke to fund my classroom. I started using programs like DonorsChoose and AdoptAClassroom.org to help me with classroom expenses and projects for my students. I advise both new and experienced teachers to create accounts on these platforms and share them with their friends. These platforms have allowed me to tap into my personal and professional networks to ask for resources. I've found that there are always people willing to support teachers. Like most educators, I can always use a helping hand, and I've found that many are happy to help. Sometimes it's our relatives and friends, and other times it's an anonymous donor or an organization. I've had tremendous success using these platforms over the years, and I'm very grateful that they exist to help teachers. If you're a teacher or you know one who is about to spend a lot of money at Lakeshore for the "biggest sale of the year," please consider signing up for an AdoptaClassroom account first. Then, share your page link with people who know you. The worst thing they can do is ignore it, and the best thing they can do is donate or share your link on their social media timelines. #backtoschool #elementary #education #teachers

I recently had the opportunity to connect with Ashby Field Primary School, a fantastic primary school at the heart of the Daventry community and learned about the incredible work they're doing to create a positive environment for their students. However, like many schools, they are facing increasing financial pressure and are looking for support from local businesses. There are many ways we can make a difference – from donating via their JustGiving page, supplying materials for school projects, or even volunteering our time and resources. Increasing financial pressure within schools is leading to heightened stress on teachers, as they face larger class sizes, reduced resources, and growing demands to meet diverse student needs with limited support. This strain can affect both their well-being and their ability to provide the highest quality education. Not only do our teachers provide the highest quality education, they also play a crucial role in safeguarding our children by creating a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment that promotes their well-being and development. Beyond academic instruction, teachers are often the first to recognize signs of emotional distress, abuse, or neglect, and their vigilance is instrumental in protecting vulnerable students. By fostering trusting relationships, educating children about their rights, and collaborating with parents, school staff, and child protection services, teachers help ensure that students feel secure, valued, and empowered. Their dedication to safeguarding is vital to the health, safety, and success of every child. If you're a local business or individual interested in making a difference, I encourage you to get involved in this wonderful cause that will help shape the future of our community. Your support can create lasting positive change and foster growth and opportunity for everyone. Together, we can build a brighter future! Please give what you can—every penny matters. Your contribution, no matter how small, can make a significant impact and help us achieve our goals. Together, we can create meaningful change in our community! https://lnkd.in/e7PAwZae Let’s come together and make a real impact for the next generation! #CommunitySupport #EducationMatters #GivingBack #Daventry #Supportourteachers

Teachers play such an important role in shaping the minds of our future generations. Take a moment this week to show appreciation for all the hard work and dedication they put into their job every day! One way to show support is by donating to organizations that support teachers, such as the Million Dollar Teacher Project. Additionally, you can donate directly to classrooms to help provide necessary supplies for students. Just ask your nearest school, teacher friends, or send me a message! Another way to show support is by recognizing and thanking teachers on social media. Post about a teacher's dedication and tag them and their school to show your appreciation publicly. If you are a teacher, don't forget to take advantage of some special deals and discounts that are available during Teacher Appreciation Week. Check out this list of places where you can score some great deals: https://shorturl.at/oyzCM Let's all come together to show our gratitude and support for teachers who work tirelessly to educate and inspire our youth. Thank you, teachers, for all that you do! 📚🍎 #TeacherAppreciation #SupportTeachers Timothy Honan + Marcela Campbell + Haven Guyer + Lloyd Hopkins

Do you remember having something for the very first time? Our Grade 4 learner, Itumeleng, had slush for the first time in her life while at a Tomorrow Trust learner engagement🥤. All learners had an opportunity to choose their drinks at a cinema outing and they all quickly picked the obvious and most refreshing – a slush. Itumeleng ran to a Tomorrow Trust team member with the biggest smile on her face. “Teacher, this drink is full of ice and it’s nice,” shouted Itumeleng. She had no idea it was even called “Slush”. Itumeleng was so overjoyed as she requested, “I have never had this in my life. Please take a picture of me and send it to my mom.” The moment brought such a great realised that we often take for granted. A simple slush was something new and exciting for our grade 4 learner who doesn’t have such experiences in her community. There are so many children out there who are longing for these simple joys. You can contribute to these first-time, simple yet special memories of our learners by donating to The Tomorrow Trust so that we can make such experiences a reality for more kids. With your support, we can ensure that learners get to enjoy the little things that make life so sweet, like a slush at the movies.
