Interesting discussion on the delegated design in Fire Protection! The biggest take away for me from this discussion is to communicate with entire team, set expectations early, and clearly identify responsibilities! Seems simple enough, but I can tell you from my own experience in this does not always happen... So here is my call to you building owners, architects, engineers, technicians, contractors, and AHJs: Open that door and talk with your team!!! #SFPE #FPE #design #AE #AEC #firesprinkler #firealarm #NFPA

Correct bounding and passive fire protection is critical to safe buildings. See this great explanatory post of things to look out for and get in touch if you need assistance
Bounding and passive fire inspections are a critical checkpoint in any construction project , as outlined under section 61 of the EP&A (DC&FS) regulation (class 2, 3 & 4 specific). These inspections are more than just a box to tick; they are to ensure that passive fire protection measures align with the strict requirements of BCA clause C4D15 and Specification 13 (previously C3.15). It is essential to remember that fire protection measures need to match the tested prototype or comply with an approved variation report under section 4 of AS4072.1. With so many trades on site, mistakes are bound to happen, especially when it comes to fire stopping. If you're not familiar with the fire-stopping requirements for your part of the job, it's easy for something to go wrong, and when it does, it can compromise the safety of the entire building. The image I'm sharing is a reminder of what happens when coordination fails. If you're not sure your project is compliant or need help navigating this aspect of building code requirements, feel free to get in touch with us at www.inthesquare.com.au. We're here to ensure your project stays safe and compliant. #FireSafety #Construction #BuildingCodeCompliance #PassiveFireProtection #InTheSquare

There is an idea that incorporating fire engineering can slow down project progress. While integrating fire safety into the design phase does require time and coordination, it can actually streamline the approval processes and prevent costly reworks and delays later on. By involving Tenable's team of experts early in the design phase of a project, potential fire safety issues can be identified and addressed before construction begins. This proactive approach allows for the integration of fire safety measures into the architectural and functional plans without compromising design integrity. Early integration prevents the need for significant modifications later, which can be costly and time-consuming. It's a basic rule of engineering that something designed to do a specific job does it better and more efficiently than something you bolt on afterwards. Why, then, would you construct a building without incorporating the fire protection design from the very start? Bringing fire protection expertise in too late in the new build process can leave you with massive compliance bungles - and a big bill to put them right. But if you involve our team of experienced and certified fire specialists at the design stage, you'll be on top of your fire compliance obligations - passive fire protection (PFP), Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs), Fire Strategy - from day one - no omissions, no rework. Do you know how important Passive Fire Protection (PFP) is, for ensuring buildings meet safety standards stopping fires from spreading, and protecting people and property from harm? It's crucial to understand the fundamentals of PFP and place its installations correctly. Here, Promat offers comprehensive PFP solutions that are vital components for inclusion in design engineering planning.
