MINISTRY of Agriculture says the supply and distribution of farm inputs for the 2024/2025 farming season under the Farmer Input Support Programme (FISP) has been completed both under the electronic voucher and direct supply systems. A total of 1,020,066 out of the targeted 1,024,424 farmers have benefitted, recording a 99.6 percent achievement in the distribution. Minister of Agriculture Reuben Mutolo said in a statement to ZANIS that the progress marks a significant step forward in supporting farmers and ensuring timely preparation for the farming season. “This is a positive step towards our agro-market development,” the minister said. Mr Mutolo said 208,594 new beneficiaries have been added to the programme following a verification exercise to remove ineligible and non-existent farmers from the register.
