Proud to be working with such a talented team on this highly disruptive project. Despite managing ~$3 trillion dollars, the retail wealth advisory industry in Canada has up to this point relied on rules-of-thumb and gutfeel to operate. Practices were often bought and sold based on revenue/ EBITDA multiples which were misaligned with the underlying businesses, potentially leaving hundreds of thousands of dollars in value on the table for both buyers and sellers. Succession planning and equity compensation programs relied on non-data-driven methodologies, leading partners to give up too much or too little of their practices. Technology stacks were/are outdated, and non-advisory team members operated as cost centers, impacting margins and ultimately valuations. Why not adopt the investment banking and consulting models that have been critical to the growth of so many multi-billion-dollar enterprises? Outsourcing M&A advisory and engaging an impartial advisor to refine your business strategy and address your pain points can lead to significant cost savings in the short term and substantial financial benefits when it's time to transition your business. After all, this model is not new; the Americans have been doing it for years.
