Enhancing User Experience through Simple Data in Power BI I'm excited to share a recent project where I leveraged simple data to create a Power BI dashboard, focusing heavily on User Experience (UX). My goal was to design an intuitive, visually appealing, and highly functional dashboard. 🧮 DAX Code: I harnessed the power of DAX code to create complex measures and index calculations. This allowed me to present the data in a more meaningful way. Additionally, I implemented dynamic headers that change based on the selected filters, providing a personalised and contextual view of the data. 🎨 Colour Schemes: I carefully selected colour schemes to promote visual and analytics synergy within a dashboard. The right colours not only make the dashboard aesthetically pleasing but also help in distinguishing various data points effectively. 🖱️Buttons: Strategic use and placement of buttons was crucial. I positioned them where users naturally expect to find them, making navigation smooth and interaction with the dashboard seamless. 📊 Choice of Graphs: With the limited data I had, I carefully chose graphs and charts that best represent the data. By using the right type of visualisation, the information becomes easily digestible, enabling users to gain insights quickly. This project was a great learning experience in balancing functionality and aesthetics. I'm proud of the outcome and look forward to applying these UX principles in future projects. #PowerBI #DataVisualisation #UserExperience #DAX #DataAnalytics #DashboardDesign #UXDesign

📖 It’s not just about making dashboards "pretty"—it’s about telling the right story! 📖 When designing Power BI reports, UX/UI should be the focus. It’s all about WHY you make certain design decisions and HOW they impact the user’s journey through the data: 💡Pro Tips; ✅ Prioritize Information: Place key insights where users naturally look first—often the top or left side of the screen, guiding them through the story step by step. ✅ Guide Navigation: Design intuitive layouts with clear paths, so users can seamlessly follow the narrative you’re presenting. ✅ Simplify Interactions: Remove clutter; make it easy for users to find and understand the story behind the data without distractions. ✅ Accessibility Matters: Include features like Alt text, color-blind friendly themes, and contextual tooltips to ensure the story reaches everyone. ✨ A powerful Power Bi report dashboard isn’t JUST visually appealing—it’s strategic, user-focused, and tells a compelling story that guides users to actionable insights. Focus on creating impactful, story-driven dashboards that solve the key problems and enhance the user experience. #PowerBI #UXUIDesign #DataStorytelling #UserExperience #DashboardDesign #ReportDesign #NextLevelReports

Hi #LinkedIn Fam 😄 In my previous post, I promised more updates. For those who prefer images over videos, this one’s for you! 😄 I've been working on a Customer Relationship Management dashboard that combines the best of both worlds: Analytics & Insights with an Amazing User Experience (UX). This project is crafted to provide an interactive journey for six team managers to assess their teams' quarterly performance. Key features I used were: ▪ A Dynamic Summary Box, to quickly view essential insights at a glance. ▪ Twin-View Options, offering the option to choose between a summarized or detailed analysis view. ▪ Enhanced KPI Cards, to display key performance indicators in with context to past. I aimed creating an experience to answer "How did the team perform?" and explore the "Why?" behind the results. I’d love to hear your thoughts: - What did you find great? - What could be improved? Feel free to interact with the Power BI project through this live link: https://lnkd.in/dE6gxP-w Have a great weekend fam 😄 #datavisualization #report #dashboard #visualization #microsoftpowerbi #pbicorevisuals #dataviz #dataanalysis #analytics #businessintelligence #businessanalysis

Hello, #datafam Build a dashboard for the Chandoo.org Power BI Dashboard contest in April 2024. The Purpose of the dashboard is to inform the CEO of Awesome Chocolates of the performance of our business in the last 13 months. Analyze the Revenue trend, Units, Shipments, Profit, Profit% and Low box shipments below USD 50. How is our sales persons performance over the period? I used only #PBIcorevisuals and field parameters to build this dashboard. Thanks to Chandoo.org for this. Mastering Report Design in Power BI Continuing my data visualization journey, I've dived into the advanced aspects of designing reports in Power BI. This course has been a fantastic opportunity to refine my skills, focusing on customizing reports and optimizing them for better user experience and mobile use. Progressive Disclosure I learned to implement a user experience (UX) technique called progressive disclosure. This approach makes the reporting experience more intuitive, akin to using a web application, by giving users greater control over the visuals. This chapter was pivotal in enhancing the interactivity and usability of my reports. Customizing the View Power BI’s default theme is just the beginning. This chapter guided me through the process of changing report themes, finding inspiration, and creating custom themes. It’s been exciting to see how these customizations can significantly impact the look and feel of the reports, making them more engaging and tailored to specific audiences. Design for Mobile Devices In the final chapter, I focused on optimizing reports for mobile users. I learned techniques to ensure that my Power BI reports are accessible and user-friendly on mobile devices, broadening the reach and usability of my data visualizations. #DataCamp #Data #PowerBI #ReportDesign #DataVisualization #UXDesign #ProgressiveDisclosure #CustomThemes #MobileOptimization #InteractiveReports #UserExperience #BusinessIntelligence #TechSkills #DataInsights #LearningJourney #ProfessionalGrowth
