Piedmont is experiencing a real revolution in the area of start-ups!🚀 How’s going in Piedmont? During 2022, investment in these young companies grew by 67%, exceeding the € 2 mln threshold. Thanks to the PiemonteNext call for proposals, as much as 1.1 million was allocated to 8 local start-ups in the aerospace, environment and smart technology sectors. 🤖 From Focoos AI, with its artificial intelligence-based platform for data collection, to Evolunar, which develops drones for lunar exploration, via Stratobotic and its innovative stratospheric platforms, these companies are pursuing ambitious projects.📈 This ecosystem has to thank the Politecnico di Torino and ESA BIC Turin, demonstrating the success of collaboration between academic and business institutions, and Finpiemonte S.p.A. too. GalaxEye, an innovative space technology startup, has secured $10 million in its latest Series A funding round. This funding follows a prior Series A round that raised $6.5 million and will accelerate GalaxEye’s satellite mission, set for launch in 2025. The mission aims to deliver high-quality, all-weather, multi-sensor data to support diverse industries. Founded in 2020 by Suyash Singh, Denil Chawda, Kishan Thakkar, Pranit Mehta, and Rakshit Bhatt, GalaxEye provides precise data using a blend of Optical Multispectral Imaging (MSI) and Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) sensors to offer essential data across multiple sectors, including defense, surveillance, agriculture, insurance, and aquaculture.
