On the 4th day of Christmas...🎄 Mobile Shredder⚙️: The mobile shredder is an industrial-grade machine that processes bulky and mixed waste directly on-site. By reducing waste volume, it simplifies handling and streamlines the sorting process, ensuring recyclable materials like plastics, wood, and metals are efficiently separated and reused. It also prepares non-recyclable waste for waste-to-energy initiatives, contributing to more sustainable disposal methods. This approach saves time, reduces transport needs, and supports M&M Waste Solutions’ commitment to sustainability, turning waste into opportunities every day. Waste Transfer Stations (WTS)♻️: Our Waste Transfer Stations, located in Oxfordshire and Aylesbury, pre-sort waste through an advanced system involving handlers, density screens, and manual picking lines. Larger materials are removed first, while vibrating density screens and infrared optical sorters separate metals, plastics, and wood. Additional equipment, such as magnets and wind sifters, further refine the waste stream. This comprehensive process ensures that as much material as possible is recovered and recycled, maximising efficiency and sustainability in waste management. Loading Shovels🔗: Loading shovels play a vital role in efficiently moving and handling materials like gravel, waste, and debris on-site. They minimise surface disruption while ensuring smooth and precise material transfer. Essential for loading lorries and reducing manual handling, their robust design and adaptability make them invaluable for maintaining safety and efficiency in waste management operations. Electric Vehicles⚡: Electric vehicles are transforming waste management in Oxfordshire by reducing carbon emissions, improving air quality, and lowering noise pollution. Producing zero tailpipe emissions, they align with the county’s net-zero goals and government policies, such as the 2030 petrol and diesel vehicle ban. Electric vehicles also offer cost savings and operational efficiency, supported by Oxfordshire’s growing investment in charging infrastructure. This transition underscores the region’s leadership in clean technology and sustainability. 🎄🎄🎄 While the 12 Days of Christmas traditionally begin after Christmas Day, at M&M Waste Solutions, we’ve put our own spin on it. As a festive countdown to Christmas, we’re showcasing the equipment and processes central to our work. #12DaysofChristmas #MMWasteSolutions #MobileShredder #TransferStation #LoadingShovel #ElectricVehicle #SkipHire

The busy summer may be over but holiday home waste continues year round. So, why is holiday home waste management so important? The Controlled Waste Regulation 2012 states that holiday homes and self-catering accommodation qualify as businesses, and so cannot use the local council’s household collection service – no matter how many days you let your property out. If you let out your property (or properties) to guests, you have a legal responsibility for the waste generated, including: 🗑️ Disposing of waste correctly ⛰️ Limiting its potential environmental damage ♻️ Reusing and recycling where possible 🏠 Keeping holiday home waste to a minimum Find out how we can help manage your holiday home waste: https://loom.ly/aRxd1Nw #WasteManagement #HolidayWaste

Mixed dry recycling waste collection is the only option to help achieve zero carbon targets... It's time to question why Northern Ireland still uses outdated recycling methods. Data shows the mixed dry recycling system is better for carbon emissions, more cost-effective, and preferred by householders. The mixed dry recycling system: ✅ Better for Carbon: reduces transport emissions and improves processing efficiency, as confirmed by a report by Eunomia, June 2024. ✅ Lower Cost & Better for Taxpayers: cuts costs, benefiting both public finances and taxpayers by streamlining processes. ✅ Householder Convenience: simpler and preferred by residents—no more sorting boxes. The evidence is clear. It’s time for Northern Ireland to move towards more efficient, sustainable waste management. #commingled #wastemanagement #recycling Re-Gen

Fly-tipping remains a significant issue across the UK, particularly in the East of England. According to DEFRA, there were over a million incidents on public land in 2022/23, with more than 78,000 in the East of England alone. This problem not only mars our landscapes but also poses risks to wildlife and public health. The UK government is taking a stand, with Recycling Minister Robbie Moore announcing nearly £1 million in funding for 26 councils, including Cambridgeshire County Council, to intensify their efforts against fly-tipping. As local residents, we understand the frustration. Often, unlicensed contractors exacerbate the problem, leaving homeowners at risk of fines. By choosing a fully licensed and reputable company like Ellgia, you can ensure your waste is handled responsibly. 🔹 Why Choose Ellgia’s Skip Services? 1. Variety of Skip Sizes: From small home renovations to large construction projects. 2. Convenient Online Booking: Easily arrange a skip with our simple system. 3. Reliable Service: Timely delivery and collection to keep your project on schedule. 4. Commitment to Sustainability: Dedicated to recycling and reducing landfill waste. Air pollution is one of the biggest threats facing human health, and has a significant impact on our communities, wildlife and our natural environments. Working with many of our Local Authority partners, we're helping to reduce emissions from our recycling, waste management and street cleansing operations - improving air quality for local residents. Some highlights from collaborative projects include: Working in partnership with Brent Council, we have rolled out nine electric collection and street cleansing vehicles. These cleaner, greener and quieter vehicles are supporting Brent Council on the road towards its 2030 carbon neutral goal. In consultation with residents living in the area, we are working with Haringey Council to introduce new electric equipment, including barrows used for street cleansing, and a cage tipper used to collect bags of waste from flats above shops. Last year, we worked with Kingston Council to begin the roll out of 27 new electric waste collection vehicles. As well as reducing emissions, the new vehicles are also helping to improve recycling rates as they are dedicated to single material collections. Across our range of electrification initiatives, we are helping to improve air quality for the communities we serve 🌳 #CleanAirDay #Electrification #ElectricVehicles #EcologicalTransformation

As a social enterprise our vision is to turn waste into a resource to benefit the community. When we see under-utilised resources destined for landfill we are compelled to find innovative solutions to rethink, reuse and recycle them! In our work supporting Merri-bek City Council to bring the four-bin system to residents, we identified a massive problem. One that has flown under the radar for far too long. Here's Rebecca Stobbe to tell you all about our initative to rescue 12 tonnes of wheels from old council bins from landfill! This work continues and we won't stop until no wheels end up in landfill or as pollution in our communities 🙌 #CircularEconomy #Sustainability
