To build your savings, investments, and wealth, the name of the game is "MORE INCOME". However, to get more income you need to make yourself more valuable in the marketplace. So how do you make yourself more valuable? You concentrate on getting higher paying skills.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with a college degree because it does give you more options, but you can obtain a high income with highly specialized skills, and make a ton of money, without a 4-year college degree.
Here are 10 high income skills that will put you in a position to get high demand jobs over the next decade or more. These skills do not require a 4-year college degree and they will add to your value and ultimately increase your income.
You can watch the video HERE.
- Trade Skills - There are many high-demand skills for the real-world trades. When I say Trades I’m talking about blue collar trades like electrician, auto mechanic, plumber, paramedic, landscaper, carpenter, firefighter, or airplane mechanic. All trade jobs require technical expertise and they also require human abilities. These trade skills will continue to be in demand over the next decade and longer.
- Copywriting - Copywriting is the art of writing engaging, persuasive, and influential content to cause readers to take action. Copywriting is a skill that you can learn. Every company, small or large, is trying to be noticed, and get attention on social media by representing their brand and giving a voice to their brand's personality. Copywriters do this for companies to help them sell products, persuade consumers, put out blog post, press releases, product descriptions, emails, print ads, banner advertising, newsletters, or PSA’s. You name it, copywriters write it.
- Sales Representative - Sales reps primarily sell products and services and are experts in closing deals. Every industry needs sales reps, and you can learn to be a good salesperson. If you have people skills, you can parlay them into the ability to influence customers and build customer relations to meet sales targets. There are pharmaceuticals sales, automobile sales, IT and software sales, heavy machinery sales, cosmetic sales, marketing and ad sales, or even home sales as a realtor. AI will not be replacing a good salesperson anytime soon.
- Data Analysis - Data analysis is one of the top skills forecasted in the World Economic Forum’s Future of Jobs Report. Businesses across all industries increasingly rely on data to make decisions through collecting, organizing, interpreting, and sharing data, which helps solve their business problems. Data is everywhere, and if you can learn skills to help collect, analyze, manage, and report that data, you will increase your income exponentially.
- Software Development - The global software market size is currently over 650 billion annually and is expected to reach 1 trillion in the next few years. You can tap into that and carve out a lucrative career. Software is in everything we use daily. Increasingly, industries worldwide have turned their full attention towards technology to advance their business capabilities, and they need people who are skilled in developing, maintaining, and improving their software capabilities. Software developers and software engineers design, program, build, deploy, and maintain software using their skills.
- WEB Development - Every business wants a presence on the internet. Web development brings together the fundamentals of software development and end user experience right and intertwines the technical aspects of software with the design elements of a website. People skilled in web development will also be familiar with search engine optimization (SEO), learning coding and code languages like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to design and program websites that meet business needs and come up with visually appealing websites.
- Content Creation and Content Management - The skill of content creation and content management involves creativity, originality, social perceptiveness, and creating engaging content. This includes data analysis, marketing analytics, brand awareness, and understanding social media platforms to help businesses assess and make business decisions. It involves creating and executing content strategies that align with business goals and targeted audiences. Careers that use content creation and management skills include social media managers, digital marketing managers, content marketing managers, and brand marketing mangers.
- Network Administration - Nearly every viable business on the planet uses computers to operate more efficiently and drive profits. So why not get the skill to set up and manage those network configurations for businesses? Network systems administration is installing, configuring, and troubleshooting problems in an organization, or a business’s computer network. This field is only growing from here and looks to have incredibly sustained growth, as a skill, over the next several decades.
- E-Commerce Management - E-commerce Management involves all aspects of selling online, such as web design, user experience (UX), marketing, customer service, sales, planning, and coordinating. Everything that moves a product from the online shopping cart to a shopper's doorstep is critical, and that's where e-commerce management comes into play. It's all about managing online stores, including inventory management, order processing, and customer support. E-commerce management requires skills in e-commerce platforms like Shopify or WooCommerce, to set up and manage online businesses.
- Information Security (Cybersecurity) - Whether you work with government agencies, retailers, or any other business to protect sensitive information from hackers, cybersecurity is a fast-growing industry. Spam, phishing, and hacking, are whole growing industries, in and of themselves. The fight to combat cyber-crimes is growing right along with it. And we all know the threat of hackers, bots, spam, and phishing is everywhere, so the demand for cybersecurity skills will remain off the charts, and it’s not slowing down anytime soon.
