23 To Change for the SDGs

We are excited to introduce you to EDuC Metrics, our offer to support HEI senior leaders, accreditation managers, sustainability directors and recruiters in gaining an accurate overview of their current integration of education for sustainable development (ESD) across the institution to make data-driven decisions about their strategic priorities.

Thanks to 4 years of development and refinement for the EDuC Label™, EDuC Metrics' 23 To Change tool provides both a comprehensive view of each program’s sustainability integration efforts and a clear picture of the institution’s overall ESD maturity level. It has been piloted this summer with IMU University (Malaysia), which offers more than 20 programs to students.

Your institution’s ESD practices are comprehensively registered during a 1-hour workshop with all your program directors under our guidance to be summarized and shared with you in a report that is easy to read and share with your teams and stakeholders. Our 23 To Change tool is designed to be 100% digital, providing convenience, accessibility and comparability to programs and institutions around the world.

Optional add-ons include fact checking, integrated anonymized student feedback, and customized questions to address strategic priorities, support applications to accrediting and ranking bodies, and respond to other non-financial reporting obligations.

Special Launch Offer: 30% discount for the first 23 HE institutions!

Book a meeting for more details on how it can make a difference in your sustainability strategy!

ESD Inspirational Quote

"The real difficulty in perfecting what we’ve been doing in education is that it would likely result in intensifying development but not sustainable development. So how do we change that and break the cycle of more education leading to less sustainable societies?"

Professor Charles Hopkins, UNESCO Chair in Reorienting Education Towards Sustainability (York University, Canada) for University World News

In July, the QS Summit Europe in Sitges, Spain, led by QS Quacquarelli Symonds and hosted by EU Business School, gathered leaders, educators and changemakers to discuss the future of higher education amid current challenges. Join EDuC was present at this inspiring event, and we are excited to share our experience with you!

Changemakers in Sustainability: New Visions of Europe Higher Ed by Empowering Internalization and Mobility

This year, the QS Higher Ed Summit: Europe focused on changemakers working on innovative ways to bring greater sustainability to the higher education classroom. Our co-founder Carina Hopper represented Join EDuC in the Measuring Sustainability panel along with Christophe Lerouge, president of IMT Atlantique, Mazin Khan, consultant at the Division for Multilateral Diplomacy at UNITAR, Dr. Ana Freire, Vice Dean for Social Impact and Academic Innovation at UPF Barcelona School of Management, and Virginie LE BARBU, Global Sustainability Director - International Markets at Lenovo.

Carina had the opportunity to share about the EDuC Label's criteria framework and why measurement is an important step in preparing future leaders to solve global challenges. She also highlighted that the EDuC Label involves other important stakeholders, such as students and alumni, to improve the integration of ESD in higher ed.

Pledge: Advance Sustainability Commitment in Higher Education Institutions Worldwide

Dr. Lela Mélon is the former executive director of the Planetary Wellbeing Institutional Framework at Pompeu Fabra University and the academic director and a professor of the postgraduate program Sustainability Transition Management and Climate Emergency at ESCI-UPF. She took the lead in initiating a pledge to support the Global Sustainability Transformation, which she presented in a dedicated session during the Times Higher Education Global Sustainable Development Congress (GSDC) in June.

As she stated: "It is time for all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to show leadership in sustainability and make a commitment towards the global transformation into a sustainable world. The proposed commitment does not just address environmental sustainability, but it also seeks to build a more just, equitable, and resilient world. This vision echoes the essence of the Sustainable Development Goals established by the United Nations, which emphasize the interconnectivity of environmental, social, and economic sustainability."
